Nothing’s better than a fun stamped image that can be used in a ton of different ways. Allow me to introduce you to Ethel. She’s an older woman who seems to enjoy cooking, but like the Mona Lisa’s ambiguous smile, her expression is totally up to your interpretation. Is she smiling or smirking? Is she making a hearty stew or something more mischievous? What’s in some of those boxes and bottles? Today I decided that Ethel was cooking with a little too much wine and found a great sentiment to go with it for this fun slimline card.
COLORING THE FOCAL IMAGE
- Start by stamping the Ethel Cooking image onto white cardstock using an alcohol-friendly ink.
- Color the image using Copic markers. Markers used are listed below:
- Skin & Hair: E11, E01, E00, C0, C2, C4, C6
- Dress: B21, B23, B26, B28
- Eggs: BG11, BG13, BG15, E000, E00
- Knife (Pot colored with same greys): E53, E55, E57, E59, C0, C2, C4, C6
- Other ingredients: R35, R46, R59; B21, B23, B26, B28; YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99
- Table: E33, E35, E37
- Cut the image out using the coordinating die.
CREATING A PILE OF WINE BOTTLES
- Inking up only the part of the Ethel Cooking image surrounding the wine bottle with black alcohol-friendly ink, stamp the image repeatedly onto white cardstock.
- Color each wine bottle with Copic markers – YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, and YG99 for the glass and E50, E51, E53, and E55 for the label.
- Fussy-cut each bottle out using fine-tip scissors. Run a black marker around the edges of the tiny bottles to finish them nicely and cover up any small cutting mistakes.
- Die cut grey cardstock with the Baskets Die to create the trash can (or recycling bin) for the bottles.
CREATING THE SLIMLINE CARD BACKGROUND
- Die cut heavy white cardstock with the Slimline OPC Scallop Die.
- Trim a piece of cranberry cardstock to 3.25″ x 8.25″.
- Center the Slimline OPC Scallop die-cut over top of the cranberry panel and position the Fixes Everything stamp so that it will be centered within the last square window.
- Stamp the sentiment onto the cranberry panel using Versamark ink, cover it in white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool.
CARD ASSEMBLY
- Trim a piece of kraft cardstock to 7″ x 8.5″ and score it down the center to form a top-folding slimline-sized cardbase.
- Adhere the cranberry panel to the card base using tape runner, then pop the slimline scalloped window die-cut on top using foam adhesive.
- Adhere the Ethel Cooking image in the center of the card using foam adhesive and liquid glue.
- Pop the trash can die-cut up in the last window with foam adhesive and arrange the bottles in and around the can, adhering some down with liquid glue and some with foam adhesive for a little depth.

Annie, this is fabulous! I love your use of the windows to frame each element, and thinking to duplicate the wine bottle and use the basket to hold the pile — genius! So clever and cute! Thanks for the inspiration and stay safe and healthy!
Thank you so much Julie!
Wow. I had to pop over from Facebook to find out more about this fabulous card.
The sentiment is ever-so-true! I can’t believe that you fussy-cut all those wine bottles.
Thank you Kathi, this was a really fun card to make!
