Welcome to the Waffle Flower March Release Blog Hop! Today I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! I created four simple and fun cards today using some of the brand new pet-themed products in the release. From sympathy cards to everyday cards, these projects are perfect for sending to all of your pet-loving friends!
PET SYMPATHY CARD
Sympathy cards are never easy to create when needed, and it’s sometimes even harder when it involves the loss of a pet. I used the Oversized Friend Die Set to allude to the rainbow bridge here by blending Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks over the word die-cut. I cut the shadow layer at a slant on the edge of a piece of white cardstock (through partial-diecutting) and embossed a sub-sentiment underneath in gold using the Elegant Sentiments Stamp Set.
The background layer was created by applying Gold Glitz Glitter Gel through one of the stencils in the Paw Print Stencil Set onto some kraft cardstock. Once dry, I adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner and added the white panel on top with foam adhesive.
PAW PRINT SHAKER CARD
Next I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card with the huge paw from the new Paw Print Die Set. I cut the outline and detail layers out of white cardstock and just the outline out of some Waterfall Cardstock. Before adhering a piece of acetate and the paw die-cut to the card front layer, I applied some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink though just one of the layers from the Paw Print Stencil Set for a little “texture”.
I added black, white, pink, and sparkling clear sequins behind my window before adhering it to a white card base with foam adhesive. Then I stamped part of the greeting using the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set and cut the other part out of white and black cardstock using the Oversized Friend Print Die Set (with a little Picked Raspberry Distress Ink blended up from the bottom).
KITTY THINKING OF YOU CARD
Although this release is all about dogs, many of the products are perfect for cat-lovers too! I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and added this cool stitched pattern to it using the new Paw Print Texture Die. And what’s really fun is that I could then line the Paw Print Stencil Set up over top of this pattern to add some fun color! (Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks)
Those adorable kitties are from the A Little Help Stamp Set and I colored them with my Copic markers to look like my two bundles of fur. I popped them up on the card front behind a sentiment strip that I had embossed in white using the Elegant Sentiments Stamp Set and added a few realllllly old enamel hearts from my stash to finish off the card.
OMBRE DOG THANK YOU CARD
Lastly, I created a background out of all of the adorable dogs from the Best Friend Die Set. After cutting them out of different shades of teal cardstock, I arranged them in an ombre pattern on top of a white panel that I had cut using the Paw Print Texture Die.
I added a simple sentiment stamped in blue using the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set and cut it out with the coordinating die. Then I cut two tiny paw prints out of white cardstock using the Paw Print Die Set and arranged them on top of the card front with a handful of Crystal Mix Gems.
