Hi friends! I’m back today with a couple of projects made with some more of the amazing holiday goodies in the latest release from Spellbinders. With perfectly coordinating dies, stencils, and glimmer plates, the brand new Trim The Tree Collection can be used to make endless styles of evergreen trees perfect for Christmas and winter cards!
SIMPLE SPARKLY CHRISTMAS TREE CARD
The easiest way to use the Trim The Tree Collection is to just die cut the cardstock of your choice with the O Christmas Tree Die Set and layer up the pieces for a beautiful and simple holiday tree…but it’s so much fun to mix the stenciled and foiled elements in too!
For this easy card, I started by cutting Fern Cardstock with the tree outline die and Mirror Gold Cardstock with the star outline and insert from the O Christmas Tree Die Set. Then I laid the shadow detail area of the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil on top of the die-cut and applied some Moonstone Glimmer Paste over top to create the look of frosty snow.
To create the beautiful gold greeting, I applied some Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the new Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Glimmer Plate Set and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Then I cut it into the perfect strip with the coordinating die.
For a festive background, I die cut some plaid paper with the largest die from the Essential Labels Die Set and mounted it on the front of a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Then I added the tree and sentiment on top of the card with foam adhesive to finish it off.
SNOWY WINTER SCENE CARD
I personally love Christmas cards with simple, peaceful winter scenes so I decided to try to make one of these next. This time, I used pink glitter cardstock with the O Christmas Tree Die Set to add a little sparkle to my evergreen. Cutting the tree insert out of white cardstock and layering it over glitter cardstock gives you a different way to add snow to the tree!
For a frosty background, I applied Moonstone Glimmer Paste through the snowfall part of the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil onto some Silky Sky Satin Mirror Card and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner once dry. Then I applied Silver Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Yana’s Christmas Sentiment Glimmer Plate Set and added it to the top right corner of the card with foam adhesive.
To finish off the card, I added a snow bank cut from white cardstock with the new Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set to the bottom with foam adhesive. Then I placed my sparkly pink tree off to the side using more foam adhesive.
ORNATE FOILED CHRISTMAS TREE CARD
The last card I wanted to share uses all three coordinating products in the collection together for a more ornate and fun card. I started by applying Mini Rainbow Hot Foil and Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the tree insert, star, and sentiment from the Shining Christmas Tree Glimmer Plate Set. I cut the gold sentiments and star out using the coordinating dies. For the tree insert, I added Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks to the cardstock with the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil before cutting it out with the tree outline die in the O Christmas Tree Die Set.
The background was created by diecutting Mirror Gold Cardstock and some pretty Christmas patterned paper using the Birthday Wishes Vignette Die Set and layering it onto some Pomegranate Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding white card base with tape runner. To embellish the corners, I cut Fern and Poppy Field Cardstock with the new Christmas Blooms Die Set and created little holly clusters.
Once the background was complete, I added the foiled and stenciled tree to the center of the card with foam adhesive and popped the golden sentiment around it with more foam adhesive.
