Hi again! I’m back today with some treat box party favors I made recently for a little one’s pirate-themed birthday party. As soon as I saw this new design from Katie Jarman in the Silhouette Design Store, I knew it would make adorable favors!
I cut the main pieces of the chest using the standard settings for Textured Cardstock in the Studio software from some “Bubinga” woodgrain cardstock that I found online at Cards & Pockets. The assembly is pretty self-explanatory, but you start by folding and gluing the sides of the base up. Then, after you glue the top panel to each semi-circle side, you’ll just need to adhere the “hinge” to the base.
The metallic accent pieces were then cut from Silhouette Printable Gold Foil…since it is self-adhesive, the foil was very simple to add to my treasure chest.
I added little pirate images from Pink & Main next. After stamping these in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic X-press It Blending Card, I colored each one with Copic markers.
The sentiment (perfect for pirate party favors!) was heat-embossed in black on some scrap red cardstock and die-cut using the coordinating dies for the “Stitched Greetings” stamp set.
After filling them with dark chocolate nuggets, my little treat boxes were ready for the party. I hope you enjoyed this fun summertime favor idea and I’d love to hear your comments!
Thanks so much for sharing. I have been collecting pirate stuff from Silhouette thinking I would do a Pirate Party for my grandsons and these are a great start. I just love them,
Thanks so much Gail…there are a ton of cute pirate designs in the design store right now so your party should look great!
