Welcome back friends! Today I have one more beautiful Christmas collection to share from the Spellbinders July 2021 Release – the Tis The Season Collection. Filled with traditional holiday icons, the dies, embossing folders, and Glimmer plates in this gorgeous collection are sure to become favorites in your stash that you’ll use year after year.
ELEGANT WINTER TREE CARD
First let’s take a look at the beautiful Bottle Brush Tree Die Set. You can cut these out of pastel cardstock for a vintage feel or traditional holiday colors for a fun modern look. I wanted to create a very simple and elegant card with mine, so I chose three metallic colors and let the beautiful die-cuts be the star.
I cut the large and small tree base shapes out of some Mirror Gold, Mirror Silver, and Blush Gold Cardstock. Then I picked some coordinating glitter cardstock from my stash and cut the large and small tree layers to adhere on top. I arranged them in a line and adhered them to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive.
The sentiment was created by applying Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Glimmer Plate Set and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. After cutting it out using the coordinating die, I added it to my card front with a thin strip of foam adhesive.
CHRISTMAS BOUQUET CARD
The Christmas Blooms Die Set is an instant classic and I loved the idea of creating a winter bouquet on top of a pretty embossed background. I started by embossing a piece of white cardstock with the Forevergreen Embossing Folder and then applied Peeled Paint and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on top of the raised areas with a blending tool before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
I cut pine cones, holly leaves, poinsettias, and pine sprigs out of several bright colors of cardstock (listed below) using the Christmas Blooms Die Set and layered them all up using liquid glue. The sentiment was cut from white and Poppy Field Cardstock with a die from the Create A Christmas Sentiment Die Set before layering with liquid glue to form a shadow. I love how you can mix and match the words in so many ways with these dies to form a custom holiday sentiment!
After arranging my bouquet in the top left corner of the card, I adhered it all down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive before adding a few Gold Mix Gems to the flower centers. I finished the card off by adding the sentiment to the lower right corner.
SPECIAL DELIVERY CARD
And I couldn’t resist making a quick card with the adorable Special Delivery Die Set…I love the details in this super cute little car and stack of gifts! I started by cutting Poppy Field, white, Fern, Mirror Gold, and Mirror Silver Cardstock with the set and adhering them all together with liquid glue.
To create the easy and festive background, I applied Speckled Prism Hot Foil to a panel of Cosmic Sky Cardstock using the String Lights Background Glimmer Plate and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Then I added a little snow drift on top cut from white cardstock using the Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set.
To finish off this simple card, I added another sentiment from the Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Glimmer Plate Set, this time foiled in silver. I cut it out with the coordinating die and adhered it to the top right corner with a tiny strip of foam adhesive.
