Hello again friends! I am excited to be back today to share a couple of fun projects made with some adorable new House Mouse stamps and dies from Spellbinders. The holidays were busy for me, so I’m just getting around to sharing these now, but they are the perfect images for winter cards. Keep scrolling for a couple of projects made with some of Simon Hurley’s recent release as well!
SWEET CROCUS CARD
Winter has barely just begun, but I know some of you are already wishing for spring! The image and sentiments from the Wishing For Spring Cling Stamp Set are great for sending a warm pick-me-up to a friend who may be struggling as well. I stamped the image onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, adding a colorful, textured winter sky to the background as well. Once colored, I cut it out using one of the dies from the Perfect Touch Rectangles & Tag Die Set and matted it with black cardstock.
To create the textured card front, I trimmed a piece of Purple Mist Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″, blended a little Wilted Violet Distress Ink up from the bottom of the panel, and then embossed it using the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder. To assemble the card, I simply adhered the embossed panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base and popped the image up in the center with foam adhesive.
SWEET MOMENTS CARD
Another fun product from this collection is the adorable grapevine image in the Cheers Cling Stamp Set. Here I stamped the image and sentiment onto white cardstock again, colored it with Copic markers, and added a light blue halo around the main image to give the impression of atmosphere. Once colored, I cut the image out with one of the dies from the Nested Postage Labels & Tags Die Set.
I cut a matting layer out of some purple cardstock using the same die set and mounted it on top of as A2-sized white card base that was embossed with the Leafy Helix Embossing Folder. I love this fun image!
WINTER WOODLAND CARD
Simon Hurley has also released a couple of cute stamp sets recently, and I thought these adorable critters from the Woodland Wildlife Stamp & Die Set were perfect for another winter-themed card. I stamped a bunch of the creatures from the set onto white cardstock, colored them in with Copic markers, and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
The background is a really fun stamp from Simon called “Whimsical Woods“, and I stamped this onto white cardstock before coloring it like a forest in early winter with Copic markers. To finish the card, I added the critters and some sentiments from the Woodland Wildlife Stamp Set.
FLORAL WREATH THANK YOU CARD
Lastly, I wanted to share a card that is begging for spring! The gorgeous floral wreath and butterfly (colored with Copic markers) is from another new stamp set by Simon Hurley called “Everyday Wreaths“. The sentiment is from his very popular Glimmer plate set “Must-Have Sentiments” and it was foiled in Cobalt Hot Foil.
And how about that background?! I trimmed a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and embossed it with the Plaster 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. I can’t get over the how real it looks! Crystal Mix Gems were added to embellish.
