Hello again friends! I am excited to be back today to share a bunch of projects made with some fun new exclusive stamps and dies from Scrapbook.com. There have been some really sweet collections released by Scrapbook.com lately and some really good sales/freebies are going on right now as well (click HERE to see all of the current deals!), so I thought it was the perfect time to create some cute summertime cards with my favorite recent products.
SOFT & PRETTY BIRTHDAY CAKE CARD
There’s just something about layering and building images with a stamp set that I always love…so the Party Animal Stamp Set was an instant favorite in my craft room! I stamped the layers of the cake, candles, and cake stand from the Party Animal Stamp Set all in various shades of ink from Gina K Designs and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Then I die cut a fun banner out of white and different colors of cardstock from the Sunshine Paper Pad using the Birthday Sentiment Banners Die Set and assembled it with liquid glue.
The background is a fun piece of patterned paper from Birthday Patterned Paper Pad that I trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″ and adhered to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I cut white cardstock using the Nested A2 Arches Die Set, blended and splattered a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto the top, and splattered it with some White Lustre Brush Marker before adhering to the center of the card front with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I added the cake and banner on top with more foam adhesive.
SWEET BIRTHDAY FRUIT BAG CARD
Next I picked up the Market Bags Die Set to create this fun fruity birthday card…I love how unique these bags are and you can even use them to hold a gift card! I started by cutting Dune Cardstock using the paper bag die from the Market Bags Die Set and stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Scoops Stamp Set onto it sideways because I wanted the bag to be falling over to dump out all of the sweet contents. Then I cut a ton of different fruits and leaves out of various shades of cardstock from the Sunshine Paper Pad using the Market Bags Die Set (you could also stamp and die cut them out with the You’re So Sweet Stamp & Die Set if you prefer!) and shaded them a bit with Distress Inks before assembling them with liquid glue.
The background is a piece of patterned paper from the Playful Patterned Paper Pad that I had trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″ before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. I added a strip of white cardstock to the bottom that I stamped a sub-sentiment onto using the You’re So Sweet Stamp Set to serve as my tabletop. To finish off the card, I added the paper bag to the card front with liquid glue (it folds up to be a tiny bit dimensional so that you can fill it with stuff!) and let the fruit and leaves pour out next to it.
SWEET WHALE LOVE CARD
And how cute is this little whale blowing hearts out of his blowhole?! The Whale Hello Stamp Set is the perfect summertime stamp set with lots of accessories and sentiments to create cards for lots of different occasions. Here I stamped the larger whale onto white cardstock and colored him in with my Copic markers before cutting him out with the coordinating dies. I also stamped the spouting hearts and sentiment from the Whale Hello Stamp Set using colored inks.
The Whale Hello Die Set also includes several different wave dies, so I decided to cut him a little piece of ocean to swim in. I started by cutting a circle out of white and aqua cardstocks (from the Sherbet Paper Pad) using the Nested Circles Die Set and then cut each of the aqua circles again with one of the wave dies to form the layered ocean on top of the white die-cut (inked around the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink). The background panel was created by trimming a piece of blue cardstock from the Sprinkles Paper Pad to 4″ x 5.25″ and lightly adding white pigment ink through the Whales Stencil with a foam blending tool for a subtle tone-on-tone look. To assemble the card, I tucked my whale between two layers of waves and added everything to the card front with foam adhesive.
SIMPLE AND COLORFUL BIRTHDAY CARD
Lastly, I’ve been loving some of the A2 Card Dies that have been released lately…and the Wavy Sun Die is no exception! I had fun cutting this pattern out of both white cardstock and a rainbow of cardstocks from both the Sunshine and Sprinkles Paper Pads. Once cut, I pieced them directly onto a top-folding A2-sized white card base for an inlaid look, then added some texture and fun by dotting White Pops of Color along the wavy lines (they kinda remind me of the arms of an octopus now, which is perfect for summer!).
The sentiment was cut out of white and colored cardstocks from the Sunshine Paper Pad using the Hooray Happy Birthday Die Set. I love how this sentiment set includes a drop shadow instead of the typical outline layers…it’s such a fun and unique look! To finish off the card, I simply added the sentiment to the center with foam adhesive.
