Sometimes a beautiful foiled sentiment is all you need to make a quick and pretty card…the rest is just icing on the cake. The new Stylish Script Collection from Spellbinders is a set of modern sentiment foil plates that can serve as the focal point of your project or an elegant accent and boast a gorgeous handwritten look. I made two cards with some of the more unique greetings from the collection, but there are pretty everyday sentiments as well!
I thought this beautiful sentiment, from the For You Glimmer Hot Foil Plate set, was perfect for feminine birthday cards. After using the plate to apply gold hot foil to some white cardstock with my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine, I cut it out using one of the Elegant Twist Circles dies. At the same time, I foiled leaves and blooms from the Radiant Flowers Glimmer Plate set onto white cardstock with gold hot foil and then blended Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks over top to add some color.
I added just a little bit of texture to the background with the Diamond Netting Embossing Folder before adhering everything down with loads of foam adhesive. I love how the sentiment stands out even next to those big foiled blooms!
I kept this next card super simple because I loved the fun sentiment so much! After foiling the More Than Chocolate Sentiment plate onto some metallic brown cardstock with Red Hot Foil, I cut it out using the second largest die in the Essential Circles die set. Then I matted it with a slightly larger circle cut from red matte foil cardstock.
The simple background was created by embossing more of the same metallic brown cardstock with the I Heart Embossing Folder. To make it look like a chocolate box, I added a small bow with red satin ribbon before matting the panel with red matte foil cardstock.
