Happy Monday friends! It’s reveal day for the March Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love the gorgeous springtime themes this month. Today I’m sharing two cheerful cards made with the Small Die of the Month and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits and I’ll be back to share the Large Die of the Month Kit soon as well.
SPRING GARDEN CARD
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Spring Flowers Card Creator“, contains 13 dies that piece together to create a gorgeous garden frame, fun sentiment, and plenty of floral accents to embellish your projects. I added bright colors and metallic touches to my card for a super cheerful spring design.
I started by cutting everything out of plain white cardstock…the frame parts, sentiment, and tiny matching flowers. Next I colored the die-cuts with several shades of each color using Copic markers for lots of depth.
Then I cut a shadow layer for each colored die-cut out of rose gold metallic cardstock (save the little “dots” to glue back into the joints!). After trimming the ends off of the frame pieces, I adhered them all behind the matching colored die-cuts with liquid glue, offsetting them a bit to let the metallic layer shine through.
To assemble, I added a piece of light green cardstock to a top-folding A2-sized white card base and then adhered the frame on top with liquid glue. Once I had positioned the sentiment in the center, I added each of the little colored flower die-cuts to the frame with liquid glue.
For a finishing touch, I attached some tiny blue and purple pearls from my stash to some of the empty branches with liquid glue to look like buds or berries.
VINTAGE STORYBOOK BUNNY CARD
The images in this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Wonderful Spring“, are simply gorgeous and reminded me of the storybooks I read as a child. This inspired me to create a clean and simple card with a few vintage touches and I love how it turned out!
I started by stamping one of the bunny images, the floral spray, and a pretty sentiment onto Bristol paper with Acorn Versafine Clair Ink. To line them all up perfectly on the first try, I used my Mini MISTI for the stamping.
I added just a bit of soft color to the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Once dry, I blended Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the sides with a blending brush to “age” the panel. As a finishing touch, I added gold gilding wax to just the edges with a domed foam blending tool to mimic gilded book pages.
I wrapped the panel with a bit of natural twine before adhering it to an olive green mat with foam adhesive. Then I added the entire thing to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
I hope you enjoyed these fun springtime cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs now and never miss a gorgeous kit like these again!
