Happy Monday friends! Can you believe it’s February already? It won’t be too much longer until we start seeing the first signs of spring and the latest Spellbinders Club Kits are perfect for those transitional cards. Today I’m sharing two projects made with the Small Die of the Month and Clear Stamp of the Month kits because the contents coordinate so well.
The Small Die of the Month Kit, “Trefoil Tile & Panel Card Creator“, contains 10 dies that cut an ornate background panel and six different tile inserts (3 sentiment and 3 decorative tiles). I cut brown, dusty blue, and grey cardstock with the kit for a pretty, early spring feel.
I stamped a sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit in Versafine Clair Acorn Ink on some speckled natural cardstock before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I adhered three copies of the ornate background panel together before adding them to the card front for a little dimension.
The layered tiles were added into the openings of the panel with foam tape. I finished the card off with a couple of bitty blooms cut using some of the dies in the Dancin’ Hearts die set (a super cute Valentine’s Day set that I hope to have the chance to use soon!).
The Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Trefoil Florals & Sentiments“, is the perfect companion to the Small Die of the Month Kit with 18 different stamps, many of which you can tile into the background panel. I decided to create my own pattern with the floral tiles for a bright and cheery spring hugs card.
I stamped the four floral tile images onto watercolor cardstock with Versamark Ink, added gold embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool. After watercoloring them quickly with my Peerless Watercolors, I die cut them out using the trefoil frame dies from the Small Die of the Month Kit. I also embossed a few of the beautiful and unique sentiments from the kit onto white cardstock.
For a fun background, I used the Stained Glass stencil to emboss a panel of bright green cardstock (using a rubber embossing pad in my diecutting sandwich). Then I lightly blended Mowed Lawn Distress Ink around the edges with a blending brush.
After adhering the background panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive, I played around with the positioning of my tiles and arrived at this four-leaf clover type of arrangement (perfect for spring!). I liked how the negative space formed a cross, so I added the layered center cut with the Kaleidoscope Cross Die Set.
With hints of Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, and spring, this card works for many occasions, but I picked the hugs sentiment because it’s so unique. All of the tiles and the sentiment strip were adhered to the front of the card with foam adhesive for tons of dimension.
I hope you enjoyed these fun springtime cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs today and never worry about missing out on beautiful kits like these!
