Spellbinders September 2023 Club Kits

Welcome to a new month friends!  The September 2023 Club Kits from Spellbinders have been revealed and we are celebrating everything autumn this month!  Today I’m sharing nine card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month, Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits, and the new BetterPress of the Month Kit and Wax Seal of the Month Kit.

Note: The new Subscription Sign-Up Window opens on the 6th of each month and closes on the 27th.  After existing club members subscriptions have been processed, if there is additional inventory remaining, then they will be made available for new subscriptions and will have limited availability. LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Boo-Licious Fall Cupcake“, is a massive set of 30 dies that can be used to create a fun cupcake with layers and layers of icing as well as several different Halloween and autumn icons to top it.  Purchase the add-on “Seasonal Cupcake Toppers” to create cupcakes for occasions all year long!  I used many of the dies in the set to make this cute Halloween cupcake scene, but can’t wait to go back and create an autumn cupcake too!

After cutting the layered cupcake out of purples and greens, I added most of the Halloween icons included in the set on top and around it.  The tiny sentiment sign is also included!  To create the background I embossed a piece of Onyx Cardstock with the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder and added it to my card base.  Then I pressed the Spider Web Background BetterPress Plate onto cotton cardstock using BetterPress Black Ink, cut it out using one of the Notched Corner Frame Dies, and blended Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink down the panel.

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Hiking Through The Meadows“, is such a gorgeous and unique set perfect for elegant autumn cards.  The kit contains 15 cutting dies that allow you to cut beautifully-detailed hiking boots and tons of autumn florals to add inside of them.  I used a muted color palette with soft peaches, pinks, and just a touch of gold to create a more feminine version for this pretty autumn card.

I started by trimming a piece of Partly Cloudy Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″, embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  Then I cut Velvet Rose, Dune, Sage, Latte, Peach Sorbet, Alabaster, and Chamomile Cardstocks with the boot and flower layer dies in the kit.  Once assembled, I arranged them on top of my card front and adhered them down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension.  To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit.

GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH

This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Sunflower Border” contains 2 Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a beautiful floral border and a pretty sentiment as well as dies to cut them both out.  I applied Blush Hot Foil to white cardstock and colored the images with Copic Markers for this easy and pretty thank you card.

Once colored, I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and blended Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks around the top and bottom edges to create some atmosphere.  Then I added the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive and popped the foiled and die-cut sentiment up on top with more foam adhesive.

STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Stitching Die of the Month is another beautiful one with simple stitching perfect for beginners!  This month’s kit, “Enchanted Stitched Mushrooms“, is a set of 16 dies that create two different stitched and layered mushrooms as well as some pretty leafy branches.  I cut the mushrooms out of Crimson and Alabaster Cardstock and stitched them up with metallic gold thread for this simple and pretty hello card.

To create the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and lightly blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink in the center of the panel before embossing it with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month.  After arranging my scene on top, I adhered everything down on the card front with liquid glue and foam adhesive, then added one of the sentiments from the set to the top corner and a couple of Gold Mix Gems to embellish.

CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Fall Thoughtfulness” is a set of 6 stamps that contains two gorgeous autumn floral arrangements and 4 pretty sentiments to go with them.  If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 6 dies to cut the images and sentiments out.  I stamped the images onto white cardstock with black alcohol-friendly ink and colored them with Copic markers for this simple and pretty Thanksgiving card.

To accent the stamped arrangement, I used the leaf and pumpkin dies from this month’s Large Die of the Month to cut a few background elements.  Then I added the colored image, sentiment, and die-cuts on top of an oval cut from white cardstock using the Fluted Classics Ovals Dies.  The background was created by blending Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple, and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink over a piece of white cardstock before embossing it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month.

EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH

I’ve certainly talked about it enough by now, so let me finally introduce you to this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Cascading Leaves & Stripes“.  It embosses a pretty leaf pattern that’s perfect for fall, but really the leaves could be used for cards all year long!  I embossed a piece of Dune Cardstock with the Cascading Leaves & Stripes embossing folder and blended a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges for this simple and cute Thanksgiving card.

After coloring the other image from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month with Copic markers, I cut it and a sentiment out using the coordinating dies.  Then I simply popped both up on top of the card front with foam adhesive and added a few Gold Mix Gems to embellish.

3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH

This month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, “Mushroom Harvest”, is so unique and beautiful, you’ll be using it on all of your cards this fall (I used it on three this month)!  I inked a panel of white cardstock with Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Festive Berries, and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink before embossing it with the Mushroom Harvest Embossing Folder, then rubbed gold gilding wax over the raised areas to bring out the design a bit more.

I added the background to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive, then cut two of the leafy sprigs from this month’s Stitching Die of the Month Kit out of Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhered them to the front with liquid glue.  To finish off this simple card, I stamped a sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month in brown ink, cut it out with the coordinating die, and added it to the center of the card with foam adhesive.

BETTERPRESS OF THE MONTH

Have you joined the BetterPress of the Month Club yet?  This month’s kit, “Corner Sunflowers“, contains 2 press plates that create a beautiful floral image as well as a pretty script sentiment with a coordinating die.  I pressed both of the plates onto Bisque Cotton Cardstock using Bark BetterPress Ink for a muted fall thank you card.

I colored the image in quickly using Peerless Watercolors before matting it with brown cardstock and adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  Then I cut that beautiful fine-print sentiment out with the coordinating die and popped it up in the top corner with foam adhesive.

WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH

Lastly, I used several of the clubs to show off this month’s Wax Seal of the Month Kit.  The “Fall Meadow” Wax Seal Kit contains one beautiful circular fall wax seal stamp as well as a bag of Copper Wax Beads.  I stamped my seal using the gorgeous beads provided and added gold metallic marker to bring out the design a bit more.  I added a secondary sentiment foiled in Gold Hot Foil using the Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set.

The background was created by embossing Dune Cardstock with the Mushroom Harvest Embossing Folder and I wrapped some gold cord around it before adhering it to a top-folding white card base.  Then I cut the leafy branch from this month’s Stitching Die of the Month and the sunflower and pod from this month’s Small Die of the Month and tucked them behind the cording before adding the wax seal on top.
