Happy September friends! It’s reveal day for the September 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and there are so many beautiful designs this month! Today I’m sharing twelve card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Thankful Tractor“, is a huge set of 22 dies that can be used to create a detailed tractor and cart filled with autumn goodies (or anything else!). I created several cards with this fun set of dies, opting for a cabless green tractor for this first bright fall slimline card.
The tractor and cart were cut from green and yellow cardstock to resemble a John Deere tractor (my son’s favorite tractor brand!). You can easily leave the cab off the top of the tractor for different looks…a fun detail I love! I filled the cart with just pumpkins so that I could use that cute sentiment from the Seasonal Motifs Sentiment Stamp Set.
To create the background, I simply trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 3.25″ x 8.25″ and embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month. Then I blended Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks over the top and bottom edges to create the look of an outdoor scene.
You really can use this die set for any season or holiday, so I created a Christmas card next! I started out by cutting Poppy Field, white, and Onyx Cardstock to piece together a Farmall-inspired tractor and cart. Then I added a few Christmas trees to the cart that I cut from Fern Cardstock using the Through The Woods Die Set.
To create the scene, I started by trimming a piece of Raindrop Cardstock to 3.25″ x 8.25″ and then I applied Pearl White Stardust Butter through the Blizzard Stencil (I love the oversized stencils that Spellbinders has been releasing lately because I can easily create slimline backgrounds with them!). The snowy hill was cut from white cardstock using the Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set.
To finished the card off, I applied Red Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Glimmer Plate Set and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. After using the coordinating die to cut it out, I popped it up in the corner of my card with foam adhesive.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Stitched Fall Leaves”, is definitely one that you’ll find yourself pulling out again and again. The kit contains 18 dies that allow you to cut seven different gorgeous stitched leaf shapes with a coordinating shadow layer as well as a fun sentiment. I blended bright inks onto the leaves before stitching them up in gold thread for this pretty hello fall card.
I started by cutting all the leaves and their shadow layers out of white and Mirror Gold Cardstock, respectively. After blending several colors of Distress Ink over the white die-cuts, I stitched them using gold Diamant thread. Then I adhered them onto the gold shadow layer with liquid glue.
I created a simple background by embossing a piece of Dune Cardstock with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month and adhered it to a top-folding A7-sized white card base. After popping the leaves and sentiments up on top of the card front with foam adhesive, I added Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
I thought these leaves were so much fun, so I cut them out of brightly colored cardstock next (Rainforest, Timber, Saffron, Teal Topaz, and Persimmon) and stitched them up with closely matching thread for a tone-on-tone look on this autumn thank you card.
The sentiment is from this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, and I added it to white cardstock with Gold Hot Foil before cutting it out using the Fluted Classics Circles Die Set. After trimming a piece of white cardstock to 5.25″ square, I embossed it with the Embossing Folder of the Month, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding 5.5″ square white card base.
Once the stitched leaves were arranged in a circle on the card front, I adhered them down with foam adhesive, added the sentiment on top, and embellished with a few Gold Mix Gems.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month is beautiful and perfect for autumn thank you cards or anytime cards. “Thankful For You” contains four Glimmer plates and five coordinating dies that can be used to a beautiful leafy frame, pretty sentiment, and a couple of accent flowers and leaves.
I started by applying Copper Hot Foil to white cardstock twice using the leafy frame in the kit. After coloring the leaves in with my Copic markers, I cut them out using the coordinating die. The sentiment was foiled onto Dune Cardstock using Copper Hot Foil and cut out using one of the Essential Diamonds Dies.
To assemble the card, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Then I popped the foiled leaves and sentiment up on top with more foam adhesive and added Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
By now you’ve seen this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Scattered Fall“, several times because I love the pretty and versatile design so much! Its floral pattern, though decidedly fall with its leaves and acorns, still works on all kinds of cards because the images are subtle. I added yet another tractor to this beautiful textured background for a simple and pretty thank you card.
I started by trimming a piece of Dune Cardstock to 6.75″ x 4.75″ and embossed it with the Scattered Fall Embossing Folder. After matting it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, I added it to a top-folding A7-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
Then I cut the tractor from this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit out of blue and yellow cardstock to look like a New Holland tractor and added a few ears of corn to it in the center of the card front. To finish off the card, I cut a sentiment out of Mirror Gold Cardstock using one of the dies from the Thankful Tractor die set.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit is adorable! “Fall Gnomes” is a fun set of 19 stamps that can be used to create a couple of cute gnomes with their fall accessories. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 16 dies to cut the images out.
I stamped the images from the Fall Gnomes Stamp Set onto watercolor paper and added washes of color with my Peerless watercolors. After cutting them out with the coordinating dies, I started to create a little fall scene with my cute characters.
The background was created by first embossing a piece of Dune Cardstock with the Scattered Fall Embossing Folder and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I die cut white cardstock using the Fluted Classics Rectangles Die Set and added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the top edges to create a sky. To finish the scene, I added a little grassy hill cut from Rainforest Cardstock with Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set.
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH
And how cool is this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month?! The “Pop-Up 3D Vignette Bubble Gum Machine” is a massive die set containing 26 dies that can be used to cut an adorable 3D bubble gum machine that folds flat for mailing. I couldn’t help it and created a fun Halloween version with the kit…imagine all of the other seasonal possibilities!
My version is assembled in exactly the same way that the included instructions dictate, but instead of colorful gumballs, I colored white die-cut balls with Copic markers to look like eyeballs for a spooky and fun effect. I also added a couple of ghosts and a bat cut with the Haunted House Die Set to embellish the machine. Love how this turned out!
CARD KIT OF THE MONTH
Lastly, this month’s Card Kit of the Month, “Sew Happy” is full of crafty images, pretty sentiment stamps, and a cute die set that cuts a fun embroidery hoop, needle, and flowers. I used tons of different elements in the kit to create four pretty cards that all seem to incorporate embroidery hoops (but I promise there are tons of other kinds of images included!).
How cute is the die set that’s included?! I cut the hoop, needle, and flowers out of the cardstock in the kit and assembled them with liquid glue. After matting a piece of pretty patterned paper with some cardstock from the kit, I popped the die-cut up on top with foam adhesive and added a printed die-cut sentiment beneath it.
Next I turned to the stamp set in the kit…it is full of fun and pretty sentiments. I stamped one onto white cardstock and framed it with one of the chipboard embroidery hoops included. Then I added it on top of some more pretty patterned paper from the kit and clustered some printed floral die-cuts around the focal point.
This card was created in much the same way except I added some pretty sewing icons around the framed sentiment and chose another gorgeous pattern from the paper pad in the kit.
Lastly, I added a couple of printed die-cut and chipboard hoops to a fun split background made of patterned paper. To finish the card off, I created a border of heart pins and added a pretty printed die-cut sentiment.
