Happy first day of September friends! It’s reveal day for the September Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love all of the gorgeous designs this month. Today I’m sharing four nature-inspired cards made with the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits, but I’ll be back very soon to show you the remaining kits too!
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, ““Just A Tweet”“, is a huge set of 34 dies (!) that can be used to cut adorable birds and their fun accessories like flowers, balloons, and music notes. Lately the goldfinches have been swooping around my neighborhood, so I created a bright and pretty hello card inspired by them.
I used both the Large and Small Die of the Month Kits on this card…as you can see they are both chock full of dies this month! The Small Die of the Month Kit, “Layered Mix and Match Sentiments” is exactly what it sounds like with 19 dies to create custom layered sentiments as well as even a couple of accent florals.
With a couple different stem and leaf options, you can build bushes or bouquets on your card front for your bird to play in. I cut Rainforest, Waterfall, Teal Topaz, and Mirror Gold Cardstock and pieced together a bright bush at the bottom of my card. Then I popped my goldfinch up near the top of the bush.
The simple sentiment was cut from white and Mirror Gold Cardstock by combining some of the dies from the Small Die of the Month Kit. After layering it up, I added it to the top of the card with foam adhesive.
This next card takes the balloons from the Large Die of the Month Kit and turns them into Christmas balls for a fun and festive holiday hello card. After diecutting white, Fern, and Pomegranate Cardstock with the balloon dies, I lightly applied gold gilding wax to bring out some of the details on the balls.
For a little texture, I embossed the background panel with the Forevergreen Embossing Folder before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. After adding the balls and strings, I cut Poppy Field and Pomegranate Cardstock to create a cardinal this time and perched him on top of one of the balls.
The sentiment is one of two that comes in the Large Die of the Month Kit and uses the same style of lettering as the Small Die of the Month Kit, adding even more options to the kinds of greetings you can piece together if you subscribe to both kits!
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
The sentiments are large enough in the Small Die of the Month Kit that you can use them as a focal point on a simple card too. Here I cut a phrase out of Mirror Gold and white cardstock and spaced it out over the entire card front.
For a subtle background, I applied Prism Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Scattered Dot Pattern Background Plate and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Then I lightly blended Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar Distress Inks onto the sides with a blending brush for some color.
Using the floral accent dies in the set, I added two tiny clusters in each corner cut from Pink Sand, Dahlia, and Mirror Gold Cardstock. I kinda love how simple this card is and think it’d be perfect for a young girl’s birthday!
CLEAR STAMP OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month, “A Little Birdie Told Me“, is the perfect complement to the other kits with adorable bird images and tons of pretty sentiments. I stamped a bunch of the little floral images in the set onto white cardstock with brown ink and colored them with Copic markers to create my own patterned paper.
New this month is a coordinating die set that you can purchase separately as an add-on. I love this option so that I can quickly and easily cut my favorite images from the set out!
I stamped a sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit onto Rainforest Cardstock in Versamark Ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool. After cutting it into a small strip, I added it to the bottom of my card front to act as grass for my bird.
Then I stamped the bird, flag, and sentiment onto white cardstock with the same brown ink, colored them in with Copic markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. After popping the images up in the center of the card, I decided to keep the card simple and sweet with no additional embellishments.
I hope you enjoyed these pretty nature-inspired cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs now and never miss a fun kit like these again!
