Happy October friends! It’s reveal day for the October 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and there are so many gorgeous holiday designs this month! Today I’m sharing ten card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Stitched Ornament & Display“, is a huge set of 16 dies that can be used to create a beautiful ornament (stitched or not) as well as a fun display box (or gift box) for it. I created my ornament and display box in frosty winter colors and added some pretty florals and a sentiment to dress it up.
I started by cutting the ornament from the kit out of white, Mirror Silver, and Purple Mist Cardstock. After stitching the ornament with purple and white thread, I added the silver detail layers with liquid glue and embellished with Crystal Mix Gems. You can cut and stitch another ornament layer to adhere to the back for a double-sided ornament, but I chose to back mine with a solid white layer so that I could leave a message for the recipient.
The display box is pretty easy to assemble thanks to the included directions. I cut mine out of Cosmic Sky Cardstock, embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, and applied Silver Gilding Wax to bring out the details. Then I cut a floral spray with the kit and sentiment using this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit and added them to the box with liquid glue to embellish.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Outlined Christmas Sentiments“, is another classic set that you’ll find yourself pulling out again and again. The kit contains 26 cutting dies that allow you to piece together countless holiday greetings with a coordinating shadow layer along with some beautiful winter florals. I kept my colors light and bright for this pretty holiday hugs card.
I started by cutting this fun sentiment out of Waterfall and Mirror Silver Cardstock and adhered it together with liquid glue. Then I cut lots of flowers and leaves out of Pink Sand, Dahlia, Teal Topaz, and Mirror Silver Cardstock and created two little arrangements for the corners of my card.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I added the sentiment and flowers with foam adhesive and embellished the poinsettias with Crystal Mix Gems.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month is just beautiful and perfect for Christmas or winter cards. “Poinsettia Spray” contains four Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a gorgeous floral corner design and three pretty sentiments and four coordinating dies to cut all of the foil designs out.
I kept my card pretty simple this time and let the foil do the talking. After applying Aura Hot Foil to Forest Cardstock using the floral corner design and one of the sentiments, I cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I trimmed a piece of Crimson Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″, embossed it with the Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
I popped the floral designs and sentiment up on top of the card base with foam adhesive and trimmed off any overhanging cardstock with a pair of scissors. For a little sparkle, I added a few Gold Mix Gems.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
You’ve seen this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Scattered Christmas“, several times already because I love the pretty holiday design so much! Mostly florals with a few ornaments tossed around, Scattered Christmas is perfect for all kinds of winter projects. I added a simple ornament to this pretty inked background for a soft holiday wishes card.
I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″ and embossed it with the Scattered Christmas Embossing Folder after applying Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, and Salvaged Patina Distress Inks to the folder with a brayer. I love this soft and pretty look!
To create the ornament, I cut some more white cardstock with one of the circle dies from the Fluted Classics Circles Die Set and inked around the edges with a little more Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink for some depth. The I cut white, Teal Topaz, and teal glitter foam cardstock using the Outline Christmas Sentiments Die Set and decorated the ornament before adding it to the card front with foam adhesive.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit is another gorgeous design! “Wonderful Christmas” is a set of 10 stamps that can be used to create winter bouquets and add one of many beautiful sentiments. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 8 dies to cut the images and some of the sentiments out.
I stamped some of the flower images and sentiments onto white cardstock with black alcohol-friendly ink, colored them with Copic markers, and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
For the background, I trimmed a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″, embossed it with the Scattered Christmas Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. I love this clean and simple look!
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH
Once again, this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month is a gorgeous and versatile 3D design. The “3D Poinsettia Surprise Envelope” is a massive die set containing 22 dies that can be used to cut a beautifully-detailed 3D envelope with an explosion of pretty flowers. I used the kit to create a pretty 3D card in frosty holiday colors…Raindrop, white, Mirror Silver, and a touch of Phone Booth!
My poinsettias were cut from white, Mirror Silver, and Fern Cardstock and I curled the petals between my fingers before assembling them with liquid glue. A Crystal or Silver Mix Gem was added to each flower center for lots of sparkle and shine.
CARD KIT OF THE MONTH
Lastly, this month’s Card Kit of the Month, “Oh What Fun!” is chock full of adorable holiday images, pretty sentiment stamps, and a cute die set that cuts a Santa face and whimsical Christmas tree. I used lots of different elements in the kit to create four easy holiday cards.
The die set included in the kit is simply adorable. I cut only the Santa face and added him to a cute chipboard frame on top of some pretty patterned paper. The sentiment is one of the sweet puffy stickers included in the kit as well.
There are some adorable holiday critters included in the kit too, so I created a winter background out of some patterned paper along with a simple snowy hill cut by hand out of white cardstock. After adding some of the die-cut images, I popped a sentiment up on top from one of the add-ons for the kit, the Oh What Fun! Die-Cut Sentiments Pack.
Here’s another easy card made with some of the die-cut images. I added a few chipboard accents and some gold garland cut with the die set included in the kit.
Lastly, I created some of my own fun patterned paper by stamping the gingerbread man and sprinkle images from the stamp set in the kit onto some pink cardstock with brown ink. Then I just added a sentiment from the add-on sticker pack as well as a few scattered puffy snowflakes.
