SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Birthday Bliss“, is perfect for sweet celebration cards. The kit contains 15 cutting dies that allow you to cut an adorable turtle, sloth, banner and balloons. I used the dies in the kit to create a soft and pretty mini slimline baby card in shades of pink, yellow, and brown.
To create the background, I first embossed a piece of white cardstock measuring 3.25″ x 6.35″ using this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, then lightly blended Spun Sugar Distress Ink up from the bottom. I adhered the clouds to the background with liquid glue and popped the balloons and sloth up on top with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I added a sentiment foiled in gold using this month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit and a few Gold Mix Gems.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Hooray! It’s Your Birthday“, is a huge set of 18 dies that can be used to build a cute scene with an alligator, frog driving a car, borders elements, and even little gift boxes. I used the dies in the set to make a colorful birthday card featuring the alligator in waves of blue vellum.
To hide the areas where I applied adhesive to the vellum waves, I added a bold border cut from Cosmic Sky Cardstock using this month’s Stitching Die of the Month. Balloons from this month’s Small Die of the Month and a cute sentiment from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month finish off this fun card.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Confetti Wishes” is a set of 13 stamps with all sorts of fun and unique sentiments for birthdays and beyond. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 12 dies to cut almost all of the sentiments out. I stamped two of the sentiments from the kit onto a brightly colored stitched panel to create this simple and pretty birthday card for a friend.
To create the sentiment panel, I first cut white cardstock using this month’s Stitching Die of the Month and blended a rainbow of Distress Inks over the top. After stitching the border with white thread, I stamped the sentiments onto it using black ink and my Misti. To assemble the card, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month and popped it onto a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Matching Aura, Teal, and Pink Opalescent Sequins were added to finish off the card.
STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stitching Die of the Month is super versatile and tons of fun! “Cross Stitch Nested Card Front & Tag“, is a set of 7 dies that cuts three different sizes of cross-stitched rectangles, three faux-stitched matting layers, and a fun stitched tag. I cut the medium-sized rectangle out of white cardstock, shaded it with Distress Oxide Inks, and then stitched everything up using white thread to create a background for my cute scene.
After adhering the stitched background on top of a matting layer (cut from Cosmic Sky Cardstock using the same set) I added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base that I had embossed with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month. Then I added the cute frog driving his car (from this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit) in bright colors to create this fun birthday card for a special boy.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
And speaking of the Embossing Folder of the Month…“Cascading Streamers“ is perfect for all kinds of celebration cards, but also subtle enough to use for everyday cards! Here I blended several Distress Oxide Inks over a piece of white cardstock, embossed the panel using the folder, and then rubbed a white inkpad over the raised design to make the confetti stand out a bit more.
The turtle and balloons are from this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, and I cut them from soft shades of purple, pink, and teal to match the background I had created. To keep them from blending into the background, I added an arch cut with the Make A Wish Arch Labels Die Set from white cardstock. A sentiment foiled in gold using this month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit and a couple of Crystal Mix Gems finished off this pretty celebration card.
3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, “Rosette Burst” is such a fun and festive design. I used the folder to emboss a piece of white cardstock before blending a rainbow of Distress Inks over top, matting it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
With so much color and texture in the background of this card, I decided to keep the rest pretty simple. I foiled a sentiment in gold using the You Are Everything Sentiments Press Plates and Die Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and added it to the center of the card with foam adhesive. Then a few Gold Mix Gems were added to embellish.
STENCIL OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stencil of the Month, “Squared Away” is a set of 5 A2 background layering stencils that creates a colorful background reminiscent of Piet Mondrian. I used the stencils to apply several muted Distress Inks to white cardstock for this colorful card perfect for any kind of celebration.
Once stenciled, I cut a window out of the panel using a circle die and popped it up on top of an A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. I added another sloth with his balloons (Small Die of the Month Kit) to the window, along with some coordinating opalescent sequins. To finish off the card, I foiled a sentiment in gold using this month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit and added it to the bottom of the card with foam adhesive.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Confetti Burst” contains 5 Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a background as well as three fun sentiments and 4 coordinating dies to cut them all out. I applied Rainbow Confetti Hot Foil to white cardstock twice using the background plate from the kit for this fun birthday card for a friend.
The cake was cut using this month’s Bonus Die Set (free when you subscribe to the Deluxe Caboodle Club!), “Party Time Cake“, a sweet cake on a stand with a fun sentiment. After assembling the cake, I popped it up on top of a couple of matted layers cut using the Scallop Labels & Tag Die Set and framed it with some of the sentiments from the kit, foiled in gold.
BETTERPRESS OF THE MONTH
This month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit, “Paint The Town“, contains 6 press plates that create a gorgeous and colorful paint stroke background as well as four pretty sentiments with coordinating dies. The paint stroke background looks beautiful pressed in all kinds of colors, but I chose deep greens and blues for a masculine look. Here I used Laurel, Pine, Azure, and Cosmic Sky BetterPress Inks to “paint” a bold background onto Porcelain BetterPress Cardstock.
After matting the pressed panel with Cosmic Sky Cardstock, I mounted it on a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I pressed the sentiments from the kit onto more Porcelain BetterPress Cardstock using Azure and Cosmic Sky Inks, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and added them to the center of the card with foam adhesive.
WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH
And finally, here is a look at this month’s Wax Seal of the Month Kit. The “Happy Birthday To You” Wax Seal Kit contains one square wax seal stamp as well as a bag of coordinating wax beads. I melted Coral Wax Beads before pressing them with the stamp to create this pretty marbled seal. To bring out the design more, I added gold metallic marker to the raised design of the seal.
The seal was so beautiful I wanted to complement it with some pretty floral sprigs, so I grabbed some older die sets from Susan Tierney-Cockburn (Mason Jar & Lavender) to create a little lavender and gingko bouquet. The background is just some Dune Cardstock embossed with the new Bark 3D Embossing Folder. After adding the floral sprig to the front of it, I wrapped the panel three times with some gold twine and adhered the seal on top.
I hope you enjoyed these fun celebration card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs starting on the 6th of the month and never miss a great kit like these again!
