Happy first day of November friends! It’s reveal day for the November Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love all of the gorgeous holiday designs this month. Today I’m sharing six Christmas projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Christmas Foliage Strip & Borders“, is a massive set of 13 dies that cut several different beautiful borders big enough for slimline cards (many of which can be used all year long!) and petite Christmas foliage dies that you’ll be using on all of your holiday projects. I cut the foliage border twice out of white and Mirror Gold Cardstock and colored the white die-cut with Copic markers before adding the gold die-cut behind it for a golden shadow.
After adhering the foliage borders behind a white panel cut on both sides with one of the other border dies in the kit, I popped the whole thing up on top of a slimline-sized white card base that I had added a piece of Cosmic Sky Cardstock to the front of. I finished it off with a simple and pretty greeting cut using the Create a Christmas Sentiment Die Set and added a few Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
If you love the look of stitching on cards, but have been afraid to dive in because it looks complicated or time-consuming, then this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Stitched Curved Border & Ornaments“, might be for you! The stitching on these beautiful die-cuts is very minimal with simple patterns, so it’s a great way to ease into the trend.
I cut the layers of the ornaments in the set from Pink Sand, Poppy Field, Fern, Mirror Gold, and white cardstock and stitched them up with silver metallic thread before assembling them with strings and toppers cut from Mirror Silver Cardstock. Then I used the border die in the kit as just a decorative pattern by cutting it repeatedly out of Waterfall Cardstock and layering it over some Teal Topaz Cardstock for a subtle background.
I added a mat of Mirror Gold to the background panel before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I popped the ornaments up on top of the card front with foam adhesive and added a sentiment foiled in gold using Yana’s Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Plates and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
And while we’ve got the Glimmer machine out, let’s talk about the gorgeous borders and sentiments in the latest Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Curved Christmas Glimmer Borders“. I foiled three of the beautiful designs and a sentiment onto white cardstock and cut the edges with the included dies.
I colored the foliage border in with Copic markers and added a few poinsettias and holly leaves cut with the Large Die of the Month Kit to embellish the top panel.
The panels were stacked on top of each other and a piece of Waterfall Cardstock with foam adhesive, then added to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. I love all of the beautiful foiling on this simple card!
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit, “Around the Holidays“, features the same curved design as many of the other kits so it’s the perfect companion to them or can be used on its own. I created two cards with this kit because I loved the different styles of borders offered.
For the first card, I stamped the snowflake border in three different colors and added a sentiment above, embossed in silver. Then I cut Mirror Silver Cardstock using one of the loopy borders from the Large Die of the Month Kit to accent the stamped piece.
I added this panel with foam adhesive on top of a top-folding A2-sized white card base that I had inked with the same three ink colors. To finish off the card, I added some Crystal Mix Gems.
For this next card, I wanted to give the feeling of presents piled up under a tree. I started by cutting a piece of Fern Cardstock with the border die included in the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month (you can purchase just the Clear Stamp of the Month by itself as well) and embossing it with the Forevergreen Embossing Folder before rubbing a bit of gold gilding wax over top to bring out the raised details.
Then I stamped the ornament border onto kraft cardstock with Versamark Ink and embossed it in gold before adding a little quick color with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. The presents and sentiment were embossed in gold on white cardstock and cut out with the dies in the kit (I snipped the ends of the sentiment with scissors to form a little banner).
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
Last, but certainly not least, is this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Kit, “Pop Up 3D Vignette Christmas Tree“. How adorable is this die set?! With 21 gorgeous dies, you can assemble a beautiful little pop-up scene like this or use many of the elements separately on a traditional card.
I used light and bright colors for a vintage Christmas feel and love how this special little project turned out. It folds flat for mailing too…can you imagine receiving this little gem in the mail?
