Spellbinders March 2025 New Releases

Hello again friends!   I am excited to be back today to share a bunch of fun projects made with some of the latest products from the March 2025 Release by Spellbinders.  There are a ton of different products in this month’s release, and I usually share projects in separate posts for each collection.  However, this month I’m a little short on time (because I was busy working behind the scenes on finishing touches for my next collection! 😉 ), so I used a little bit from each of the new collections to create five bold and cheery cards for a variety of occasions.

HEARTFELT BLOOMS CARD

Simon Hurley’s latest stamp and die release includes this gorgeous oversized floral stamp set as well as the matching dies – Heartfelt Blooms.  Not only are the flower images gorgeous, but there are some really beautiful sentiments included in the set as well!  I stamped all of the smaller flower and leaf outline images onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and added two-toned color to the flowers using the included solid stamps and pink and purple inks.  (The leaves did not have coordinating solid fill stamps, so I just used my Copic markers to give them some quick color.)

To create the background, I trimmed some Waterfall Cardstock to 4.75″ x 6.75″, embossed it with the new Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A7-sized white card base.  After diecutting white cardstock with one of the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Dies, I stamped a sentiment onto the one side using the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set and added it to the front of the card with foam adhesive.  I then arranged the flowers and leaves around the opposite side of the white panel and adhered everything down with a mix of foam adhesive and liquid glue for tons of dimension.  Crystal Mix Gems were added to embellish.

Side note – The Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder is from the new Collaged Birds Collection by Dina Wakley and I created three more cards for the Spellbinders blog using some of her beautiful products:

  1. A colorful birthday card made with the Collaged Birds BetterPress Plate & Die Set, Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set, and the Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder.
  2. A soft and pretty card for a friend made with the Feather Dream BetterPress Plate & Die Set.
  3. A clean and simple card made with that beautiful Soaring 3D Embossing Folder!

You can find all of the details for these cards over on the Spellbinders blog by clicking HERE.

LITTLE SMILES COLLECTION

The Little Smiles Collection has all of the dies, press plates, and embossing folders you need to create sweet cards for new babies, kids’ birthdays, or anyone who appreciates adorable images.  Here I cut this little bunny driving his cute car out of various colors of cardstock using the Go Kart Go Die Set.  To give him a little scene to drive through, I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Falling Stars BetterPress Plate, cut it out using one of the Perfect Touch Arches Dies, and blended some Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink over top for some color.

Next, I trimmed some white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it using the Wishing Stars 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  After adding the background and bunny car to the center of the card with foam adhesive, I foiled a sentiment in gold using the Little Smiles Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set and popped it up in the corner of the card.

I created another three cards using the Little Smiles Collection for the Spellbinders blog using these adorable products:

  1. A sweet baby card combining the Bundle of Joy Die Set with the Wishing & Falling Stars Bundle.
  2. A cute birthday card for a kid made with the Go Kart Go Die Set and the Little Smiles Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set.
  3. Another adorable baby card made with the unique Swinging Among The Stars Die Set (the basket really swings back and forth!) along with the Falling Stars BetterPress Plate.

You can find all of the details HERE on the Spellbinders blog on March 26th!

GOLDEN AFTERNOON COLLECTION

The Golden Afternoon Collection from Rosie’s Studio is another beautiful collection of papers and embellishments with a couple of coordinating die sets.  I combined the die sets with some bright and fun items from last month’s Just Sayin’ Collection by Kelly Bangs instead for this pretty coffee-themed card for a friend.  I started by cutting the film strip from the My Life In Pictures Die Set out of Alabaster and Acorn Cardstock and added some coffee die-cuts from the Just Sayin’ Die Cuts Pack on top with foam adhesive.

The colorful, yet subtle, background is just a page from the fun Just Sayin’ 6×6 Paper Pad adhered to a top-folded A2-sized white card base.  After adding the film strip on top with foam adhesive, I cut the sentiment from the My Life In Pictures Die Set out of Seaside and Waterfall Cardstock and popped it up in the center of the card.  I love how simple and fun this card turned out!

JUST SAYIN’ COLLECTION

I couldn’t stop there, so I made another really simple and fun card with components of the Just Sayin’ Collection by Kelly Bangs.  I started by choosing a pretty background pattern from the Just Sayin’ 6×6 Paper Pad, allowing this to dictate my color choices for the rest of the card.

Next, I cut some speech bubble outlines out of Peridot, Teal Topaz, and Tutu Cardstocks using the Speech Bubbles Die Set to match (as well as their coordinating inner die-cuts out of white cardstock).  The white die-cuts were first stamped with light green, teal, and pink inks using a pattern stamp and then a sentiment in black ink all using the Speech Bubbles Sentiments Stamp Set.  After popping the bubbles up on the front of the card with foam adhesive, I added Crystal Mix Gems to embellish.

COLOR WHEEL CARDSTOCK

If you haven’t heard yet, last month Spellbinders released a full range of gorgeous new cardstock colors (called the Color Wheel Collection) as well as some handy tools for cataloging them.  This encouragement card uses many of those colors cut using the Pieced Heart Die Set and assembled on top of some heavyweight vellum – Seaside, Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Blue Spruce, Oceanside, and Cosmic Sky Cardstocks.

As you may be able to tell, Spellbinders kept a few of the shades from their previous cardstock line (yay for my favorite Cosmic Sky!).  To keep them organized and so that I can easily match my cardstock to patterned paper and embellishments, I created swatches for all 48 colors using the Color Swatch Petal Die Set and the Color Swatch Names Stamp Set.  For smaller swatches or to store some of your favorite color combinations, the Color Swatch Wheel Die Set is perfect!

Once my colorful heart was assembled, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Bold Floral Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.  The “fearless” sentiment was pressed onto white cardstock using blue ink and the Cherish This BetterPress Plate & Die Set, while the “BE” was die-cut using the oldie-but-goodie Be Bold Upper Case Alphabet Die SetGold Mix Gems were added to embellish.

So many sweet cards all in one place! I love the soft, pretty colour palettes you’ve worked with. Your Little Smiles cards could be my favourites – but thankfully we don’t have to choose!!
