Wreaths kinda perform the same function on cards as they do on doors – they make you feel welcome and invite you inside. There are definitely at least a couple of wreath dies in my stash, but none in the beautiful modern style of the latest Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Kit. I was excited to pull these out and create this simple and pretty birthday card for my niece.
In the Geometric Floral Frames die set, you get two sizes of modern “wreath forms” (which can, as the name implies, also just be used as frames). The larger frame can be cut more than once and flipped around in different orientations to create the overlapping style of the smaller one. Plenty of leafy branches, flowers, and berries are included to fill out your wreath for nearly any occasion you choose.
I kept this card simple to go with the modern look of the die set. Starting with a woodgrain pattern from the Good Life Prints Paper Pack, I added a copper-foiled sentiment to the center with one of the greetings from the “Let Your Sentiments Shine” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Then I adhered the smaller die-cut wreath (cut from some brown metallic cardstock) around the sentiment with liquid glue.
Using glitter and satin finish cardstocks, I cut a few leafy branches, berry sprigs, and a trio of flowers and arranged them in the lower right corner of the frame. A handful of crystal gems finished off this simple and feminine card.
