LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Botanical Atrium“, is a huge set of 20 dies that can be used to build a beautiful glass atrium full of bold florals and sweet butterflies. I used the dies in the set just as they were intended to make this colorful thank you card but you could create a gorgeous bird cage too!
After cutting the leaves and flowers from lots of colorful cardstock, I assembled the atrium and mounted it on top of white cardstock that had been embossed with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. The finishing touches were a couple of golden butterflies (included in the set) and a sentiment foiled in gold using this month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Soaring Dragonfly“, is perfect for encouragement and celebration cards. The kit contains 11 cutting dies that allow you to cut a beautiful dragonfly with different wing styles as well as a pretty sentiment. I used the dies in the kit to create a bold and magical dragonfly with vellum wings that I colored with Copic markers.
To create the background, I masked off everything on a piece of white cardstock except for a circle in the center that I lightly blended Picked Raspberry Distress Ink into before embossing it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month. After adhering the dragonfly over the circle, I finished the card off with the sentiment from the kit cut from Mirror Gold and Royal Amethyst Cardstock to give a shadow effect.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Nature’s Dance” is a set of 9 stamps with gorgeous, modern sentiments for all sorts of occasions. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 9 dies to cut all of the sentiments out. I stamped the large “Smile” sentiment from the kit repeatedly onto a piece of white cardstock in bright citrus-y colors to create this simple and pretty encouragement card for a friend.
Once the background panel had been stamped (by hand…I really enjoy repeat stamping with an acrylic block and don’t mind if it doesn’t end up perfect!), I matted it with Sunkissed and Rainforest Cardstock before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I cut a small circle from Sunkissed Cardstock using one of the Everlasting Circles Dies and draped some of the vines and flowers from this month’s Large Die of the Month over one side. To finish off the card, I added a pretty sentiment stamped and cut using the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit.
STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stitching Die of the Month is another fun and fluttery critter! “Stitched Ladybug“ is a set of 14 dies that cuts an adorable stitched ladybug, a gorgeous stitched oval frame, some sweet sentiments, and even a few floral accessories. I cut the oval frame and ladybug from the kit out of colorful cardstocks and stitched everything up using complementary shades of thread to create some beautiful textured elements for this sweet thank you card.
I had some fun paper that matched this theme, so I added a panel out of the Little Ladybug 6×6 Paper Pad to an A2-sized white card base before adhering the frame on top with tape runner. Then I popped my ladybug and sentiment up in the center of the oval with foam adhesive, leaving the extra little floral elements off of the card because the design was fairly busy already.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s Embossing Folder of the Month…“Faceted Petals“ is a subtle floral pattern perfect for everyday cards and fun techniques! Here I added strips of pastel cardstock to a piece of white scrap paper, embossed the panel using the folder, and then matted it with Cosmic Sky Cardstock for a pretty and preppy background.
The sentiments were stamped in Blue Belle Versafine Clair Ink and cut out using this month’s Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit. Once adhered, I added some sweet little butterflies (from this month’s Large Die of the Month) around the sentiment and embellished their bodies with Crystal Mix Gems.
3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, “Stylized Lattice” is another beautiful and versatile design. I used the folder to emboss a piece of Waterfall Cardstock before rubbing a white pigment ink pad over top and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base for this clean and simple card for a friend.
Using Nocturne Versafine Clair Ink and this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month, the sentiment was stamped onto a white panel that I had sliced randomly about halfway down with my paper trimmer. After popping this up on top of the embossed card front, I tucked a few leafy branches behind it (from the Large Die of the Month) to accentuate the sentiment. (Check out how fine the print is on that…so elegant!)
STENCIL OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stencil of the Month, “Nature’s Frame” is a set of 5 A2 background layering stencils that creates a gorgeous floral frame background perfect for spring cards! I used the stencils to apply several bright Distress Inks to white cardstock for this pretty best wishes card.
Once stenciled, I cut the center out of the panel using the inner frame die from this month’s Stitching Die of the Month (it fits perfectly!) to create a window. Behind the window, I placed some white cardstock embossed with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month and added a sentiment from the brand new Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set. Gold Mix Gems were added to embellish.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Elliptical Wave” contains 6 Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a pretty modern background as well as five fun sentiments. I applied Aura Hot Foil to white cardstock using the background plate and one of the sentiments from the kit for this easy card for a friend.
Once foiled, I blended some coral inks up from the bottom of the panel, trimmed it to 4″ x 5.25″, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Then I popped the sentiment up in the center of the card and added some itty bitty florals (from this month’s Large Die of the Month) as well as a few Gold Mix Gems.
BETTERPRESS OF THE MONTH
This month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit, “Take Flight“, contains 5 press plates that create two beautiful butterflies as well as three pretty sentiments with coordinating dies. The butterflies look beautiful pressed in all kinds of ink colors, but I chose to foil mine instead. After adding Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock with the plates, I used the coordinating stencils (this month’s Bonus Item if you subscribe to the Deluxe Caboodle Club!) to add shades of pink and orange to my butterflies.
To create the background, I matted some scripty patterned paper with Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhered it to a white card base. Then I cut white and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Woven Lattice Texture Die, layered them to leave a golden shadow, and added it to the center of the card front. Once the butterfly and sentiment were place in opposite corners, I added a few Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH
And finally, here is a look at this month’s Wax Seal of the Month Kit. The “Floral Jewel” Wax Seal contains one oval 3D wax seal stamp as well as a storage box (the perfect size for organizing your wax seals or even some wax beads!). I poured and scraped Pastel Aqua Wax Beads onto the stamp before pressing the design into melted Royal Blue Wax Beads for this fun two-toned wax seal.
The background was created by blending Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink up from the bottom of a piece of Waterfall Cardstock before embossing it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month. A few leafy sprigs from this month’s Large Die of the Month were adhered behind the wax seal and I added the other foiled butterfly and sentiment from this month’s BetterPress of the Month to finish off the card.
I hope you enjoyed these fun, fluttering card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs now and never miss a great kit like these again!
