Happy New Year friends! It’s reveal day for the January 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love all of the gorgeous love-themed designs this month. Today I’m sharing five Valentine’s Day projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, and the BRAND NEW Embossing Folder of the Month!
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “A Pocket Full of Love“, is a large set of 11 dies that cuts a beautifully ornate pocket as well as a fun shaped note card to insert. You can add the pocket to your cards and scrapbook pages or use it on its own for a gorgeous and unique love letter like I’ve done here.
I cut the layers of my pocket love letter from Portobello, white, Timber, Pink Sand, and Dahlia Cardstock using the Large Die of the Month Kit. After assembling it all with liquid glue, I added a sentiment foiled in silver (made with the Glimmer Kit of the Month!) and a few Silver Mix Gems to embellish.
On the notecard, I stamped one of the hearts from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit using Versafine Clair Pinecone Ink. Then I added some quick coloring with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens in colors that matched the cardstocks I chose. I adore this cute little pocket of love!
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
If you love large background dies that can do most of the designing for you while you enjoy just pulling together a beautiful card, then this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit might be for you! “A Lotta Heart” is a set of three dies that creates a fun colorblock background as well as a gorgeous intricate heart and pretty flowers to embellish it with.
I cut the components of my background out of white, Purple Mist, Lilac Blossom, Royal Amethyst, and Waterfall Cardstock before assembling it carefully onto a piece of scrap paper that I had covered with double-sided adhesive. After adhering the floral heart in the center, I added the tiny flower die-cuts and a few Silver Mix Gems on top.
I matted the background with both Mirror Silver and Royal Amethyst Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. To finish the card off, I added a sentiment foiled in silver using one of the sentiment plates from this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
Let’s take a look at that Glimmer Kit of the Month…I used it on so many of my club projects this month because it is so versatile! “Love Enclosed” is a set of seven hot foil plates and six cutting dies that can foil three different large heart designs and a slew of love-themed mini strip sentiments as well as cut some pretty floral accents. I used two of the heart foil plates with the Red Hot Foil in the kit create three simple foiled hearts for this easy slimline card.
I popped the hearts up on top of a background cut with the Fluted Classics Slimline Die Set and embossed with this month’s brand new Embossing Folder of the Month. Then I added some of the sweet floral die-cuts from the kit that curve perfectly around one side of the heart shape.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
Allow me to introduce you to one of my favorite new things about 2022…the Embossing Folder of the Month! At a whopping 5.5″ x 8.5″, the “Spreading Love” folder can create textured backgrounds for slimline, 5″ x 7″, and A2 card sizes (and more!), and still fit in your average diecutting machine. As a cardmaker who loves to create oddly-sized cards from time to time, I can’t tell you how excited I am to have all of these options!
Here I embossed Pink Sand and Poppy Field Cardstock using the Spreading Love Embossing Folder. Then I matted the pink layer with Mirror Gold Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. After adding a pretty frame cut from white cardstock using one of the Candlewick Rectangles Dies, I popped the red panel up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month and cut the heart and sentiment strip out using the coordinating dies. Then I added some quick coloring to the heart with Copic markers before popping the pretty foiled pieces up in the center with foam adhesive.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
The Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “One Love, One Heart” is the perfect complement to all of the other club kits this month. With 12 clear stamps featuring even more pretty heart designs and beautiful sentiments, you can mix and match all of the kits for endless possibilities!
I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ before embossing it with the new Spreading Love Embossing Folder and adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Then I stamped two of the heart designs from the kit onto white cardstock using Versamark Ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool.
After blending Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac, Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron over the embossed designs with a blending brush, I cut them out with the coordinating dies (included if you subscribe to the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit) and popped them up in the middle of the card. Then I added a tiny sentiment from the same stamp set in the lower right corner.
