Spellbinders Exclusives Collection

Welcome to the weekend friends!  Today I’m sharing a couple of projects made with the new Spellbinders Exclusives Collection (check out the rest of the October release here!).  This collection contains beautiful holiday BetterPress plates, a gorgeous new emboss & cut folder, and a pretty wax seal stamp available only in the Spellbinders shop.  Here I’m sharing three cards in non-traditional colors perfect for sending a cheery hello around the holidays.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU CARD

I thought the Merry Christmas To You Cardfront Press Plate was such a fun graphic design, so I picked out a bright non-traditional color scheme to go with it.  After inking the plate up with pink, purple, and blue dye inks from my stash, I pressed the design onto Waterfall Cardstock using my BetterPress System and inked around the edges of the panel with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink for a dramatic effect.

Once matted with Mirror Silver Cardstock, I mounted the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.  To finish off this simple card, I cut a poinsettia and holly leaves from white and Mirror Silver Cardstock using the Sealed Christmas Sprigs Die Set and adhered them beneath the sentiment.

EMBOSSED EDGE CHRISTMAS CARD

Another really cool product in this collection is the Poinsettia Bells & Border 3D Emboss & Cut Folder.  It includes an edge die that you can fit inside of the 3D embossing folder, and when you run a half-sheet of cardstock in it through your diecutting machine, it will emboss and cut both a full card front as well as the border design seen here.  I inked up one side of the folder with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink and ran a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock measuring 5.5″ x 8.5″ in it through my Spellbinders Platinum Machine.  Then I rubbed a white ink pad over the embossed design for lots of variation in color.

The design came out more distressed than I usually like, but I thought it was really interesting too so I cut a matting panel out of Mirror Silver Cardstock using just the die from the set this time and mounted it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base that I had embossed with the Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder.  To finish off the card, I cut a sentiment out of Mirror Silver Cardstock using the Mix & Match Holiday Greetings Die Set and added some Pink Mix Gems to embellish.

CHRISTMAS FLORAL SPRIGS CARD

Since I had a full card front panel embossed already from my last project, I figured I might as well use it!  I wrapped some silver baker’s twine around the panel and mounted it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  Then I cut white, Mirror Silver, Waterfall, Teal Topaz, and Crimson Cardstock using the Sealed Christmas Sprigs Die Set and assembled my bouquet with liquid glue.

Next I melted Crimson Wax Beads and pressed them with the Merry Christmas Square Wax Seal Stamp before rubbing a little Perfect Pearls powder over the design for a subtle shimmer effect.  To finish off the card, I adhered my sprigs underneath the twine and added my seal over top with foam adhesive.
