Have you seen the latest club kits from Spellbinders? With tons of pretty florals, beautiful sentiments, and unique backgrounds, the December 2021 clubs are sure to be crowd-pleasers! Today I’m sharing ten fun card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Layered Stitched Background“, is a set of six dies that can be used to cut layered backgrounds and borders for a variety of card sizes. I cut the stitching pattern into Cosmic Sky cardstock twice to create a slimline card and stitched the entire thing with gold metallic thread.
After stitching the panel, I adhered it to a top-folding slimline-sized white card base before adding the additional background layers and borders cut from Pink Sand, Dahlia, and white cardstock. Then I added a small white oval cut using the Fluted Classics Ovals Die Set in the center to cover up any “seams”.
The sentiment was foiled in gold onto white cardstock using the Heart Felt Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set and cut out with the coordinating die. To finish the card off, I added a small layered bloom cut from Pink Sand and Rainforest Cardstock using the Small Die of the Month Kit.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
If you love the look of that little bloom above, then this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Sketched Florals & Frame“, might be for you! With 12 dies, you can cut a cute loopy frame and tons of different styles of flowers to add to your cards.
I cut the outlines of each flower out of Mirror Gold Cardstock and the solid “backers” out of white cardstock. After coloring the white die-cuts with Copic markers to give the flowers some fun dimension, I adhere the gold outline layers on top with liquid glue.
I added the frame and floral arrangements to a card front that I created by embossing Glacier cardstock with the Simply Perfect Florets Embossing Folder. To finish this simple card off, I added a sentiment foiled in cobalt using the Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
Looking for more sketchy florals? This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Color Outside The Lines” is a beautiful set of 19 stamps with everything from pretty layered flowers to beautiful sentiments and elegant floral letters you can use to spell out a variety of large sentiments.
For this card, I stamped each of the flower outlines from the set in a line using navy ink, then added their slightly wonky solid layers with a soft peach color. After adding a fun sentiment in the same navy ink, I adhered the panel to a piece of Cosmic Sky cardstock.
A strip of patterned paper from this month’s Card Kit of the Month was added to ground the line of flowers. Then I finished the card off with a few Crystal Mix Gems.
I also wanted to try out those beautiful floral letters included in the stamp set, so I stamped out the letters to spell “Hey Love” in Versamark Ink and embossed them in gold. After adding a tiny bit of pink and blue shading with water-based markers, I cut them out with the coordinating dies (included if you subscribe to the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit).
The background was created using this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit. Instead of stitching it, though, I just layered it up in Waterfall, Mirror Gold, and white cardstock and added some Gold Mix Gems for a pretty and ornate look.
To give my letters a less-busy background to stand out upon, I cut white cardstock using the Elliptical Ovals Die Set and popped it up in the center of the card front. Then I added my sentiment on top with tiny strips of foam adhesive.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Botanical Crest“, is a gorgeous set of 3 Glimmer plates and 5 cutting dies that foils a pretty leafy crest and two sentiments and cuts them all out plus allows you to add some tiny die-cut blooms. I foiled white cardstock using the kit with Blush Hot Foil and colored the leafy elements in with Copic markers before diecutting the wreathy form and sentiment out.
To brighten the wreath even more, I die cut Pink Sand and Dahlia Cardstock using the tiny flower die in the kit and added them randomly around the shape. Each flower received a pretty Gold Mix Gem in the center as well.
The background was created by cutting some minty cardstock using the largest die from the Fluted Classics Squares Die Set and adhering it to a top-folding 4.75″ square white card base. The muted floral background was cut from some more pretty patterned paper from this month’s Card Kit of the Month.
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
I hope you’re not sick of florals yet! This month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Kit, “Enchanting Pocket Card Tag & Envelope“, is a massive set of 14 dies that can be used in so many different ways. I cut a pocket and insert with mine, and filled it full of pretty blooms for this sweet thank you card.
After cutting the ornate pocket out of Waterfall Cardstock, I added a sentiment embossed in white using the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set. Then I cut the insert out of white cardstock and adhered it inside the pocket with tape runner before adding the whole thing to the front of a 5″ x 7″ white card base embellished with pretty patterned paper.
The tiny flowers were cut from Pink Sand, Dahlia, Alabaster, and Snowdrift Cardstock using dies from the kit, shaped with a ball stylus, and layered before adding yellow prills to the center with liquid glue. Once dry, I arranged a bunch of flowers of leafy branches in the pocket and adhered them all down with more liquid glue.
CARD KIT OF THE MONTH
Lastly, I created four easy cards using this month’s gorgeous Card Kit of the Month, “Beauty Is Everywhere“. With gorgeous butterflies, pretty florals, and romantic die-cut shapes and sentiments, this kit is perfect for spring and Valentine’s Day cards.
This first card features the beautiful die set included in the kit. I cut the layered butterflies from gold, black, and orange cardstock before adhering them all together with liquid glue and shaping the wings a bit. Then I added a little border cut from black cardstock to some of the pretty patterned paper before popping up a sweet die-cut sentiment shape and adding the butterflies around it.
With pretty sequins and fun chipboard frames in the kit, I couldn’t help but make a shaker card next! I added some clear packaging to the back of one of the frames and threw some sequins behind it before popping the whole thing up on top of some more of the beautiful patterned paper. The I added a few die-cut shapes and a simple sentiment for a bright and pretty love card.
I used another chipboard piece to frame one of the pretty sentiments from the stamp set that I had stamped onto some white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. With a few glittery die-cut shapes and some patterned paper, this easy card came together so quickly!
I loved these fun dimensional ticket and glittery translucent butterfly stickers included in the kit, so I added them to a simple collage arrangement in the center of a card front and added a bold sentiment for this last pretty love card.
I hope you enjoyed these fun floral card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs now and never miss a great kit like these again!
