Happy April friends! It’s reveal day for the April 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and there are so many fun and unique designs this month! Today I’m sharing nine card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Say Cheese“, is a massive set of 28 dies that can be used to cut a complete vintage camera and flash as well as some beautiful leafy sprigs and flowers to embellish it. I used nearly all of the dies included in the kit to create this bright and cheery 5″ x 7″ card perfect for sending a springtime hello to a friend.
I cut the main camera body and flash out of some Pink Sand, Wild Berry, Mirror Silver, and Graphite Cardstock and assembled it with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension. Then I cut some flowers and leaves out of Waterfall, Persimmon, Beeswax, Fern, and Rainforest Cardstock.
The background was created by embossing a piece of Glacier Cardstock with the latest Embossing Folder of the Month and matting it with Mirror Silver Cardstock before adhering it to a side-folding A7-sized white card base. After adhering all of the die-cuts down to the card front, I added a few Silver Mix Gems to embellish.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
If you’re always running low on birthday cards, then this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit is definitely for you! The “Gift Border & Sentiments” Die Set contains 11 dies that allow you to cut a beautiful row of gift boxes that can be used as a border or stand-alone die-cut as well as several versatile sentiments. I used the kit to create a bright and cheery gift card holder perfect for birthdays or graduations.
After diecutting the row of gifts, I decided to ink blend a rainbow of color onto the backer piece instead of piecing all of the interior cuts back in. Then I adhered the silver outline on top with liquid glue and added it to another embossed card front along with one of the sentiments.
Inside I added another row of gifts on top of a flap that was created to hold a gift card. The other sentiment, cut from some Mirror Silver Cardstock, was perfect for this type of pocket card.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
Following with the flash/sunburst theme, this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month is gorgeous and one you’ll definitely pick up again and again! “Glimmer Burst” contains four Glimmer plates along with two coordinating dies to create a stunning starburst background along with matching sentiments.
I foiled the background plate twice onto some Purple Mist Cardstock using Prism Hot Foil and then added a sentiment in the same foil onto white cardstock. After cutting the sentiment and sun border out using the coordinating dies, I added them on top of the foiled background wtih foam adhesive.
To embellish, I added a few flowers and leaves cut from Pink Sand, Rainforest, white, and Mirror Silver Cardstock using last month’s Large Die of the Month Kit as well as the Mini Blooms & Sprigs Die Set. Then I added a few Crystal Mix Gems to finish off the card.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Radiant Burst“, is a beautiful and super versatile addition to your oversized folder collection. It’s simple eye-catching design and large dimensions (the folder is 5.5″ x 8.5”!) make it perfect for creating focal points on all kinds of cards.
Here I cut some Waterfall Cardstock using one of the Precision Layering Mini Slimline Dies before embossing it with the Radiant Burst Embossing Folder and inking the edges a bit with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. After matting it with some Mirror Gold Cardstock, I added it to the front of a side-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6.5″.
I used the latest Glimmer Kit of the Month to foil and cut a “sun” for my card and adhered it at the center of the embossed burst. Then I added some bright flowers cut with the latest Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Kit at the bottom, reaching for the sun.
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH
Speaking of this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, the “Pop-Up 3D Vignette Watering Can Bouquet” is a set of 15 dies that can be used to cut a gorgeous watering can and flowers for either the 3D vignette like I’ve made here or to just add to the front of a card.
My watering can vignette was cut from some aqua shimmer cardstock. I rubbed some gilding wax over the embossed areas on the front piece to give it a patina-look and added a foiled greeting to the front (made with Moondust Hot Foil and the Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments Plate Set).
The flowers were cut from yellow, orange, and red cardstock and assembled to look like black-eyed susans and daisies for a bright summer feel. I added a bit of shading with Distress Inks for a little depth as well.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
And this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit is not to be missed either! “Happy Moments” is a beautiful set of 12 stamps with a small row of gift boxes, bows, and tons of pretty sentiments. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 10 dies to cut the images and sentiments out. (I LOVE having dies for sentiments lately!)
I stamped the images and sentiments onto some Bristol Paper with Versamark Ink and embossed them in gold. Then I colored the boxes quickly with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens for a high-contrast, artsy look and cut everything out using the coordinating dies.
After trimming a piece of Teal Topaz Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, I embossed it with the Radiant Burst Embossing Folder and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I added a white panel cut using the Fluted Classics Rectangles Die Set before popping all of the images and sentiments up on top with foam adhesive.
CARD KIT OF THE MONTH
Lastly, this month’s Card Kit of the Month, “Picket Fences” is chock full of beautiful floral images, sweet sentiment stamps, and a gorgeous die set that cuts some seriously detailed flowers and leaves as well as a cute picket fence! I created three cards with many of the elements in the kit, but could have easily made a ton more!
Here’s a look at that gorgeous die set…this one will definitely earn a permanent spot in your stash! I cut my picket fence out of the Mirror Gold Cardstock included in the kit for a bit of a different look and added lots of leaves and flowers behind it cut from all of the other cardstock colors in the kit.
The background is a sheet of beautiful paper from the paper pad in the kit and I added a panel of white cardstock on top to stamp one of the pretty sentiments in the stamp set onto before building my scene on top.
For this easy card, I simply created a bouquet out of the die-cuts in the kit on top of another sheet of patterned paper. I added a sentiment from the included stamp set at the bottom and a few puffy sticker dots around the bouquet to embellish.
This little scene was created entirely of die-cuts on top of a patterned paper background from the kit. I always have trouble finding supplies to make cards and gifts for new neighbors, but this kit has tons!
