It’s the day after Christmas…time to put away all of the gorgeous holiday stamps and dies, including the ones I wanted to use and never found the time for. My favorite crafty time of the year is over and although we have a whole new year’s worth of holidays to look forward to now, I’m not quite ready for Valentine’s Day cards or cheery spring florals just yet, so I decided to create a soft winter thank you card today instead.
I started by trimming a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and placing a stencil from a previous My Monthly Hero Kit down on top (apologies, I realized too late this was not a current product…but for a similar look, you could try this stencil instead!). Then I spread White Glitz Glitter Gel over top for a subtle tone-on-tone look and set the panel aside to dry.
All of the floral images in the Color Layering Flowers For You stamp set are gorgeous, but I thought I’d just use the greenery this time for more of a winter feel. I stamped the solid layer with Feather ink (from a previous My Monthly Hero Kit) and the detail layer with Versamark ink using my MISTI. Then I added Sparkle Embossing Powder, melted it with my heat tool for a fun shimmery effect, and fussy-cut them out (there are coordinating dies for this stamp set too).
My sentiment came from the super versatile Thanks Stamp & Cut set. I used the die to cut three layers of the thanks word out of Lavender cardstock to stack together for lots of dimension, then I stamped the rest of the sentiment in Versafine Ink onto a heavyweight vellum strip before adding clear embossing powder.
After wrapping the vellum strip around the glittery background, I adhered the stacked die-cut sentiment and soft leafy branches on top with strong liquid adhesive. Then I popped the whole panel up on top of an A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.
