It seems like flamingos are everywhere right now and I couldn’t resist the trend for a quick crafty project in between emptying the still-ginormous mountain of moving boxes in my house (I can, however, ignore the pineapple trend…just not feeling that one). This little bookmark is a sneak peek at the new Verity Rose Papercrafting Collection coming soon to Crafter’s Companion.
If you’ve never heard of Verity Rose, it’s a cute and quirky branded gift line from the UK…and the patterns and characters they offer are meant to cover a wide range of events and personalities. This sentiment, from the Cupcake Character Stamp Set, was the one that spoke to me…and it’s kinda a personal motto of mine (although I had never put it into words until now).
After heat-embossing the flamingos in white onto some Crafter’s Companion Watercolor Cardstock, I colored them with my Spectrum Aqua markers and a waterbrush. The watercolored panel was adhered to a black pearl bookmark backer that I cut with a doily die from the collection. Then, I used the “Official Frame” die to add a graceful border to the sentiment and glued it to my silly background with liquid glue.
Now I have a fun bookmark to use when I’m finally able to do some light summer reading (the way that my unpacking is going, it’ll probably be the summer of 2024). I hope you have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!
Spectrum Aqua markers used: Begonia, Blossom, Sunflower, Kingfisher, Bud Green, Black, Aquamarine
