Happy Monday friends! I’m excited to be back today to share several projects made with the new Sealed by Spellbinders Wax Seal Collection. This beautiful collection is full of all the products you need to create gorgeous wax seal embellishments or even just the look of them! I created three elegant holiday cards and two cheerful springtime cards with the collection and love how the wax seals can really take these kinds of projects to the next level.
CHRISTMAS TREE MINI SLIMLINE CARD
The Sealed Collection contains both holiday and everyday seals, dies, and glimmer plates, so I started with the beautiful holiday designs. First I cut a piece of Waterfall Cardstock with the largest die from the Precision Layering Mini Slimline A Die Set and then I applied Prism Hot Foil to it using the Geometric Optical Background Glimmer Plate. The design won’t cover the whole length of the mini slimline panel, but I added a piece of white cardstock cut at an angle to mimic a basic snowy hill and matted it all with Mirror Silver Cardstock before adding it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″.
Those quirky little trees were cut from white cardstock, Silver Glitter Foam, and Light Pink Glitter Foam using the Sealed Christmas Tree Squiggle Die Set. I added them under a fun peppermint-inspired wax seal that I created by melting red and white wax beads together and pressing them with the Do Not Open Wax Seal Stamp before painting the seal design with a silver paint marker. To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Plate Set foiled with Moondust Hot Foil.
CHRISTMAS HOLLY SEALED CARD
I love all of the long-stemmed florals and sprigs that Spellbinders has created for the Sealed Collection, so I picked up the Sealed Holly Sprigs Die Set next. After cutting them out of Fern, Forest, and Phone Booth Cardstock, I assembled them quickly with liquid glue. I created a pretty matching seal by melting Red Wax Beads and pressing the Merry Christmas Wax Seal Stamp into it before applying some paint to the design with a gold paint marker.
The simple background was created by applying Matte Gold Hot Foil to Dune Cardstock using the Woodgrain Background Glimmer Plate. I matted this panel with gold cardstock and twisted a few lengths of gold twine around it before adding it to an A2-sized white card base covered with Phone Booth Cardstock. The sprigs and wax seal were then adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and glue dots, respectively.
CHRISTMAS TRUCK WREATH CARD
Another fun way to use seals on a card is with this beautiful wreath Glimmer plate. I started by applying Gold Hot Foil to Phone Booth Cardstock using the Sealed Berry Wreath Glimmer Plate and then I die cut either side with the scalloped border from the Winter Borders Die Set. I added this with foam adhesive on top of an A2-sized white card base that I embossed the front of with the Holly Flourish Embossing Folder.
I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card foiled in Gold Hot Foil with the Joyful Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Plate. For a fun embellishment, I melted Green Wax Beads and pressed the Christmas Truck Wax Seal Stamp into it before painting the design with a gold paint marker.
SPRING FLORAL SEALED CARD
There are tons of wax seals, dies, and background designs in the new collection that aren’t holiday-themed as well. I used the new Geometric Floral Background Glimmer Plate to apply Prism Hot Foil to white cardstock before adding Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink with the fun Layered Geometric Flower Stencil Set. I love this bright and cheery background!
I used the Sealed Twine Die to cut white cardstock and wrap around the background panel for the appearance of real twine. Then I cut some floral sprigs out of Mirror Silver, white, and Pink Sand Cardstock using the Sealed Blooms Die Set and added a pretty seal made with Teal Wax Beads and the wax seal stamp included in the Wax Seal Starter Kit.
BIRTHDAY BIRD BRANCH CARD
If you like the look of hot seals, but don’t want to invest in a bunch of new tools, there are still fun ways to add the look to your projects! Here I used the Faux Wax Seal Stamp & Die Set to stamp a greeting on white cardstock and layer it up with some Wild Berry Cardstock for a fun wax seal look.
The background was created by embossing a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock with the Leafy 3D Embossing Folder and matting it with Mirror Gold Cardstock before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I cut white, Mirror Gold, and Wild Berry Cardstock using the Sealed Birds Die Set and layered them up with liquid glue on the top of the card front. To finish off the card, I added some Crystal Mix Gems.
