It’s no secret that I love nature-themed images, so even though I already have many leaf stamps, I needed to get the new “Scattering Leaves” set from Hero Arts too. For their new challenge, you are asked to base your project on an inspiration piece from their blog, gallery, or catalog and use at least one product from one of their new catalogs. I chose the “Season of Thanks” card by Sally Traidman from the Hero Arts blog and used it as a sketch for my card:
I stamped a background in Versamark ink using most of the “Scattering Leaves” stamps and brushed on four different colors of perfect pearls – Perfect Gold, Perfect Copper, Perfect Bronze, and Forever Red. The band was created by matting a piece of patterned paper from the Basic Grey “Hipster” 6×6 pad on some matching brown cardstock.
I cut the tag from some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock on my Cameo using a new Hero Arts file from the Silhouette Online Store and distressed the edges just a bit. The sentiment is actually from the new Christmas stamp set called “Banners and Messages” from Hero Arts and it’s a great set because a lot of the words are separate so that you can combine them to make sentiments for other seasons too like this one. I finished the tag off with a few strings I pulled from the frayed edge of a burlap garland roll I have in my stash.
Thanks for stopping by and I’d love to hear your comments!
What a gorgeous card. Love the DP and the raised sentiment.
OK – so its not DP – its actually pearlized versamark ink. WOW!! It looks fantastic! Great work Annie.
