Hello again friends! I am excited to be back today to share a couple of fun projects made with new Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection from Spellbinders and Simple Stories. This collaboration combines the gorgeous patterned papers, ephemera, and embellishments from Simple Stories with the beautiful layered dies and BetterPress plates that Spellbinders is known for. I used a little bit of everything from the collection to create three sweet cards for friends.
SWEET AS HONEY CARD
Naturally, I had to start by creating a card with Winnie the Pooh himself! Here I cut him and some small honey jars out of various cardstocks using the Pooh & Piglet Die Set, and then I plopped that adorable bear inside of a giant honey jar cut using the Pooh’s Hunny Pot Die Set. To create some depth, I blended a little Distress Ink around the edges of the die-cuts.
After deciding on my arrangement of pots, I die cut some white cardstock using the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set and added a couple of bees to it using the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Rub-Ons. (Lately, I’ve been buying tons of rub-ons…it’s just so easy to add tiny details like this to cardstock or even patterned paper.) To assemble the card, I matted some patterned paper from the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection Kit with brown cardstock and adhered it to a white card base, popped the white background on top with foam adhesive, and added the die-cuts and a sentiment from the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Bits & Pieces on top with more foam adhesive.
SWEET ENCOURAGEMENT CARD
Next, I got to work assembling all of Pooh’s friends. Eeyore was cut from Raindrop and Partly Cloudy Cardstocks using the Tigger & Eeyore Die Set, while Piglet was cut from Pink Sand and Fruit Punch Cardstocks using the Pooh & Piglet Die Set. (I pieced Tigger together too, but haven’t made a card with him yet…he’s adorable as well!) Once assembled, I again inked the edges of the die-cuts with various Distress Inks.
For the background, I stamped a greeting from the Friends Forever Stamp Set onto some patterned paper from the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection Kit. To create the grass, I cut some olive green cardstock with the Pooh & Friends Silhouette Die Set, and just trimmed off the characters to yield the perfect grassy hill! Eeyore and Piglet were added with foam adhesive to finish off the card.
FRIENDS FOREVER CARD
Lastly, I loved the illustrations in the adorable stamp sets from this collection, so I stamped a couple of characters from the Silly Old Bear Stamp Set onto white cardstock and colored the image in with Copic markers. After cutting white cardstock using the polaroid die from the Memory Frames Die Set (a MUST-HAVE for your stash!), I stamped a sentiment on the bottom using the Silly Old Bear Stamp Set again and adhered the colored image behind it with liquid glue.
The background was created by layering a couple of different patterned papers with a border sticker from the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection Kit. Once adhered to the white card base and trimmed, I added some stitching details to the left side using the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Rub-ons. To finish off the card, I popped the polaroid up on an angle with foam adhesive.
