Crafting during the warmer spring months can be tough for me…I want to be outside with the sunshine and flowers before the summer heat scares me back inside! Tools that help me create quick projects are a must, so I’m happy to give you a sneak peek at the second part of the Create-A-Card die bundle that will be coming to HSN as the Today’s Special Value on May 9th (first peek can be found here).
“Circle Centre” is a set of 7 dies that can be used to create a ton of different swing card designs…from the elaborate floral pattern shown here to just a simple card layered with patterned paper (full color instructions are included for five projects to get you started). One sentiment is included in the bundle, but five other circle sentiments are available separately – “Thinking of You”, “From Me to You”, “So Blessed”, “Sending my Love”, and “Sweet Friend”.
Using the same watercolored sheet from this post, I die-cut two intricate floral panels to layer over some Gold Matte Foil Luxury Cardstock on my heavyweight white cardbase. Dies are included to allow you to either cut the sentiment into the cardbase or out of a separate piece of cardstock for layering, but here I’ve chosen to cut in and layer some more gold matte foil cardstock behind it.
The final card is sized around 5.5″ x 5.5″ with space to write your message on the back of the swinging circle. I finished this simple card off with some gold pearls and a pretty satin bow…but there are tons of ways to change up the look of this basic card design (including nine decorative edges that will be available as well to work with either of the two die sets in the bundle).
I hope you enjoyed this peek at some of the new products coming to HSN next month from Crafter’s Companion. Stay tuned for more!
What sandwich combination are you using. I am having difficulty with the papers supplied with the TSV. They keep tearing on the score lines…help!!
Hi Terri! Members of the design team who used the papers supplied with the TSV had luck with the following sandwich (top to bottom): clear plate, paper, die facing up, plastic shim, purple plate. Since the Gemini has so much pressure and your machine may differ slightly, you might have to play with that combination a bit and maybe even try using just the purple plate and clear plate. I used 110lb Neenah cardstock for this card (I didn’t receive the paper you’re using in my DT package unfortunately) and the above sandwich worked for me too. If you continue to have problems with it, I would recommend calling the customer service number on the Crafter’s Companion website…they are always super helpful. Hope I’ve given you a place to start though!
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I own the Gemini and I’ll give that combination a try. I also have some heavier card stock, so I’ll give that a try as well. Thanks again!!!
