Welcome to my stop on the CutCardStock DIY Wedding Blog Hop! If you’re a new visitor to my blog, I’m Annie and I love all things paper – handmade cards, gifts, and home décor. You should have arrived here from Ana’s blog, but if this is your first stop, you can click here to start back at the beginning. Don’t forget to leave comments along the way for the chance to win a $40 gift card to CutCardStock!
Today I wanted to share a quick and easy wedding favor idea…with a few dies and some of the gorgeous cardstock from CutCardStock, you can make a bunch of these Dove Chocolate Boxes in literally minutes. If you’re short on time but still want to make a beautiful favor box, it’s important to choose a finer cardstock so that you won’t need to spend as much time embellishing.
I started by cutting the Dove Chocolate Boxes and inserts out of Rose Quartz Metallic, Amethyst Metallic, White Woodgrain, and Kraft Woodgrain cardstock. The beautiful pearl finish on the metallic cardstocks and the gorgeous texture on the woodgrain cardstocks really helps elevate these simple boxes (plus they are super thick so make for sturdy packaging).
Assembly is very simple. After folding each box and insert on its scorelines, I just glued each tab to create a “pizza box” type package that holds itself shut (instructions for assembly are also on the die packaging). To hold the insert in place, I added a bit of liquid glue to the bottom and pressed it inside the box.
There are many ways to decorate these boxes and you can just leave them as is (like my woodgrain examples) or cut any number of decorative panels and mats for the box sides (all of the dies are included in the set). For the metallic boxes, I thought it would be pretty to cut side panels out of the Botanical Garden 6×6 paper pad and ink the edges with Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet Distress Inks using a sponge dauber.
Once my decorative panels were adhered with liquid glue, I stamped a sentiment from my stash onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, cut it out using one of the side panel dies in the chocolate box set, and punched a hole in the end with my Crop-A-Dile. Then I strung the little tags onto some baker’s twine before tying a simple bow around one end of each box.
The boxes have slots just big enough for three delicious Dove chocolates (you can choose a color that coordinates with your wedding, but dark chocolate always coordinates in my opinion!). When packaged in this luxurious cardstock, it makes the perfect little wedding or party favor that’s also easy to mass produce.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy wedding favor idea and thanks so much for stopping by today! Your next stop in the hop is Niki, but here is the complete list in case you’ve missed a stop or need to start back at the beginning:

Thank you Stanlee!
Annie, these are just perfect! I love the inking around the patterned paper… and yes, dark chocolate coordinates with everything! 😀
Thank you Niki…it really does! Lol
What beautiful favors. The boxes are gorgeous and the options are endless. Could you leave the divider out to allow for a longer favor?
Thanks so much Janice. You could definitely leave the spacer out for a larger treat…it doesn’t provide stability, just neat spacing for Dove chocolates!
Oh my gosh! These are awesome, Annie! I love the different looks you achieved with papers. I have to get more dies like this!
Thank you Amber! It really is a neat little die set.
