Gift & Creative Papers from Pepin Press

Happy Monday friends!  Today I’m sharing something a little bit different. Spellbinders recently brought a ton of gorgeous gift-wrapping materials into their shop like fine papers from Pepin Press and beautiful ribbon from Vivant that can also be used to create amazing cards.  I love putting a little extra effort into a gift for even everyday occasions, so I thought I would share one of the ways I create matching gift and card combos that really make a recipient feel special.

PRETTY AUTUMN BOUQUET GIFT WRAPPING

I usually start with the gift because I know I’ll need more paper and ribbon for this and no matter how beautiful your card is, the gift is still probably the star of the show.  Here I’m taking my inspiration from one of the beautiful sheets inside The Arts & Crafts Movement Gift & Creative Papers book by Pepin Press.  These books include 12 different sheets of fine paper in beautiful patterns (each is about 19.5″ x 27.5″ when you pull it out from the book and unfold it).  I first wrapped my gift in plain brown packaging paper, then wrapped the bottom portion with this pretty muted floral design from the book.

To add a nice pop of color, I covered the seam of the two wrapping papers with a thin strip of Bordeaux Narrow Ribbon, then wrapped the package vertically with a combination of Warm Red Satin Ribbon and Green Sage Cotton Cord.  After diecutting Chamomile, Beeswax, Pomegranate, and Fern Cardstock with the Autumn Sealed Sprigs Die Set, I assembled the floral bunch and adhered it to the gift under a big triple bow made from Green Gold Satin Ribbon.  The finishing touch was a tiny tag cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Petite Blooms & Sentiments Die Set.

MATCHING AUTUMN BOUQUET CARD

Now that the gift was finished, it was easy to design a matching card with just a few small changes to some of the elements.  I took the same pretty patterned paper, matted it with some Portobello Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  Then I trimmed a panel of Chamomile Cardstock diagonally and adhered it on the bottom portion of the card with tape runner, adding a tiny strip of Pomegranate Cardstock over the seam.

The bouquet was cut from the same colors of cardstock using the Autumn Sealed Sprigs Die Set and inked with a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add some interest.  Once assembled, I added the bunch to the center of the card under a pretty bow of Warm Red Satin Ribbon.  To finish off the card, I applied Copper Hot Foil to Chamomile Cardstock using the Making Me Smile Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up in the bottom corner with foam adhesive.
