I needed a cute and colorful birthday card for a special little guy who’s at the age when anything that moves or makes funny noises makes him laugh for days, so I pulled out my favorite birthday characters set from Paper Smooches and made him a pull-up card.
The groundhog and worm are from the “Birthday Buddies” set, while the cupcake is one of the free digi stamps on their website here. I replaced the groundhog’s birthday hat with the cherry so that he’d hide a little better in the cupcake.
I love how bright and cheery all the papers from the Lily Bee Sweet Shop Collection were, so I tried to use as many as possible…it’s also part of an effort I’m making to stop hoarding all of my patterned paper! The sun and clouds were cut using dies from the Sizzix “Welcome Home” stamp and die set and the tag outline is a stamp from the new Simon Says Stamp “Tag Sayings” set.
I inked the tag with distress inks and colored in my other images using Spectrum Noir markers. Then I gave the cherry a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer to finish it off.
