Hello again friends! I am excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the brand new Out & About Collection from Spellbinders as well as some sneak peeks at projects I’ve been sharing over on the Spellbinders blog using products from many of the other June releases (there is so much good stuff this month!). This collection contains a ton of different adorable die sets that are all sized perfectly to be compatible with the new Spellbinders Scout Diecutting Machine. Here I used several die sets from the collection to create two pretty country-style cards perfect for sending a smile to a friend.
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS BIRD CARD
I have a hard time saying no to any new bird die that Spellbinders releases and the Love Note Bird Die Set is no exception…I love all of the cute details in this sweet bird! Here I cut the bird out of Alabaster, Dune, and Latte Cardstocks before assembling with liquid glue and adding a Black Enamel Dot as his eye. The floral branch from the Love Note Bird Die Set was cut out of a variety of pink and green cardstocks and embellished with Gold Mix Gems.
To create the card base, I cut two pieces of white cardstock using the largest die from the Nested Postage Labels & Tag Die Set, scored one of them at 0.5″, and adhered the panels together to form a shaped card base. I added a piece of gingham patterned paper from the Fresh Air Paper Pad (cut with the next smallest die from the same set) and adhered the branch and bird on top using a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I cut Mirror Gold and white cardstock using the Happy Birthday Wishes Die Set and added a foiled sub-sentiment from my stash beneath it.
WATERING CAN BOUQUET CARD
Continuing with that pretty floral theme, I pulled out the Sprinkle & Grow Die Set next. After cutting the watering can out of Brushed Silver Cardstock, I added a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink in places to age it a bit. Then I cut the floral stems and leaves out of various shades of brightly colored cardstock and brushed a little more brown ink onto them before arranging them in my watering can and adding a few Gold Mix Gems for flower centers.
The background was created by layering two different pieces of patterned paper from the Vintage Meadow Flowers Paper Pad and inking around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink before matting it with Alabaster Cardstock and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. To finish the card off, I added a simple greeting cut from some bronze cardstock from my stash using the Hello Smile Die Set.
