It’s always a good day when new stamps are released, so I thought I’d pop in and share a couple of quick cards! The new Cherry Green Designs stamps from Crafter’s Companion are super fun…with a mix of shoe, butterfly, floral, and feather images, I’d call them funky feminine.
For the first card, I stamped the giant floral image from “Hydrangea Garden” onto a 5.5″ square piece of Crafter’s Companion Watercolor Cardstock in Versamark ink, added silver embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool. Then I applied color directly to the paper with my Spectrum Aqua markers, blending out to the edges with a waterbrush.
When I was finished coloring, I stamped one of the pretty sentiments from the set in the corner with Versafine Onyx Black ink and tied a bit of silver metallic twine around the panel before popping it up on top of both a deep purple and a silver matte mirror mat. The card base was created from some heavy duty Construction Cardstock.
I thought I’d try out the more graphic images in the “Swirls & Flourishes” set for the next card. So I grabbed my teal and purple inks and went to town stamping frames and backgrounds!
After adding a few Purple and Ice Blue Matte Mirror mats, I twisted the layers around as I built them up to mimic the dream-like and trippy feel of the designs. A dash of purple ribbon and a quick sentiment cut from the “Words of Endearment” Die Set (Crafter’s Companion) finished off this quick and easy card.
