Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I’m excited to share a few projects today made with the new Mirrored Arch Collection from Spellbinders (you can check out the rest of the March Release here…so much good stuff this month!). This collection contains beautiful BetterPress plates, dies, and an embossing folder that coordinate perfectly to build elegant cards for any occasion.
SIMPLE EMBOSSED MOTHER’S DAY CARD
The Luxe Backdrop & Border 3D Emboss & Cut Folder creates such a beautiful pattern, I had to use it first. Here I blended Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink onto a piece of Waterfall Cardstock before embossing it with the top portion of the folder (background design). Once embossed, I lightly rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the raised areas to bring the pattern out more. Then I cut white cardstock using one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies and added it to the card front with foam adhesive.
I next created a floral swag by cutting some pink and green cardstocks using my Garden Builder Die Set and assembling the layers before adhering them to the mirrored arch die-cut with liquid glue. To finish off the card, I pressed a sentiment from the Mother’s & Father’s Day Sentiments Press Plate Set onto Porcelain Cotton Cardstock with Cosmic Sky BetterPress Ink, cut it out with the coordinating die, and added to the card with foam adhesive.
FOILED FLORAL FRAME CARD
Next I thought the Mirrored Arch Blooms Press Plate would look so elegant foiled, so I used it to apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock with my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. Once foiled, I cut a window out of the center of the panel with one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies and then colored all of the flowers with my Copic markers.
I matted the colored panel with Waterfall Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. To create the sentiment, I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Let’s Celebrate Sentiments Press Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up in the window on the card with foam adhesive.
SIMPLE LETTERPRESSED FATHER’S DAY CARD
The Mirrored Arch Nested Springs Press Plate Set is super versatile with an outer simple sprig design, three nested frames, and beautiful sentiment. It works great for almost any occasion, but it’s also perfect for masculine cards if you keep the colors and design simple. Here I started by pressing the sprig design and one frame onto Glacier Cardstock using Hydrangea and Thunder BetterPress Ink before cutting out the center with one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies.
I pressed the next smallest frame design onto white cardstock using Coastal BetterPress Ink before popping the first panel over top with foam adhesive. After matting the layered panels with Cosmic Sky Cardstock, I adhered the whole thing to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. To finish off the card, I added another sentiment pressed onto Porcelain Cotton Cardstock using the Mother’s & Father’s Day Sentiments Press Plate Set.
