Hello friends! I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new It’s My Party Collection by Carissa Wiley as well as the new It’s My Party Too Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire June release here…so much good stuff!) This collection contains fun stencils, versatile Glimmer plates, and beautiful sentiments perfect for celebrations of all kinds. I used the products in this collection along with its companion collection, It’s My Party Too, to create four colorful cards for different occasions.
WELCOME BABY CARD
I loved the simplicity and versatility of the Party Balloons Bouquet Glimmer Plate Set…you can foil the set of three circles and accessorize them in different ways to create balloons, Christmas balls, and even oranges! I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the balloons, string, and bows from the set and then added color and patterns to them with the Balloon Bouquet Designs Stencil.
The balloons were placed on top of a piece of white cardstock that had been embossed with the new Tiny Dots Embossing Folder (yay for a large-format “swiss dots” style of folder finally!) and matted with Mirror Gold Cardstock. To finish off the card, I foiled a pretty sentiment with Gold Hot Foil onto white cardstock using the It’s My Party Glimmer Sentiments Set and added it beneath my balloons.
I PICK YOU CITRUS CARD
Next I wanted to use the same Party Balloons Bouquet Glimmer Plate Set to create a group of clementines using the fun leaf accessory included in the set. I applied Tangerine Hot Foil with the balloons plate and Green Hot Foil with the leaf plate from the set onto white cardstock. Then I used the Balloon Bouquet Designs Stencil to add the color and patterns to the clementines with Dried Marigold and Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink as well as white pigment ink.
The background was created by embossing a piece of Waterfall Cardstock with the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder and swiping a white pigment ink pad over the raised areas to bring out the design a bit more. After adhering the clementines on top with foam adhesive, I tucked a sentiment from my Welcome Sign & Sentiment Stamp & Die Set behind the group and added some Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
COLORFUL BALLOON BORDER CARD
The Party Balloon Garland Stamp Set reminded me of the fun balloon arches I constructed for each of my kids’ first birthday parties and I couldn’t wait to use it! Stamp it once for a simple garland of balloons or rotate it and stamp it again to create a full border around an A2-sized card. Here I stamped the balloons twice onto white cardstock using Rose Gold Metallic Ink and added clear embossing powder to create a full border. Then I colored the border with Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks using the Balloon Garland & Sentiments Stencil Set (so easy to color them this way, and you get a ton of great sentiments in the set too!).
I matted the panel with some rose gold cardstock from my stash and added it all to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I applied Aura Hot Foil to white cardstock using the new Glimmering All About You Foil Plate Set and added it to the center of the card (check out that color-shift!) with foam adhesive. I finished the card off with a few Crystal Mix Gems.
POPPIN’ BALLOONS CARD
Lastly, I loved the new Floating Balloons 3D Embossing Folder and thought it was the perfect simple background for any celebration card. I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the folder and then blended Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink over the entire panel before matting it with Mirror Silver Cardstock and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
I wanted to keep the rest of the design simple, so I added a sentiment foiled in Silver Hot Foil using the Glimmering Poppin’ Birthday Plate Set to the top of the card and embellished with a few Crystal Mix Gems. I love this fun and versatile background!
