Hello again friends! I wanted to pop in quickly today to share a couple of projects made with the new House Mouse Summer Fun Collection from Spellbinders (check out the rest of the May release here…there’s some fun stuff so far this month, with even more coming this week!). This collection contains four new adorable summer mouse scenes perfect for cute cards that can really be used any time of year. I picked my two favorite images and colored them up for these fun cards for friends.
YOU’RE THE COOLEST CARD
I thought the image in the Stay Cool Stamp Set was so adorable, I had to pull this one out first. I stamped it onto some white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink and colored it up with Copic markers, making the glass look like it was full of lemonade (because who doesn’t want to soak in lemonade on a hot summer day?!). Once colored, I cut the image out using one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies and blended a bit of Salty Ocean and Lost Shadow Distress Ink around the edges to finish off the scene.
The patterned paper in the background is from a retired line (Vintage Lemon Twist) from Simple Stories, but it matched so well I had to use it! After adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I popped the image up on top with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I stamped a fun greeting from the stamp set onto white cardstock, cut it into a small strip, and added it to the top corner with more foam adhesive.
CAKE IT EASY CARD
And how cute is this image from the Sweet Birthday Stamp Set?! (I may or may not have looked like this on my last birthday…🤣) Once again, I stamped the image onto some white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink and colored it up with Copic markers before cutting it out with one of the stitched frames from the Nested Postage Labels & Tag Die Set. I again blended Salty Ocean and Lost Shadow Distress Inks around the edges to finish the scene off before matting it with one of the postage-edged die-cuts created with the same die set.
I used my MISTI to stamp a greeting from the stamp set directly onto the colored panel…how cute and unique is that sentiment? To assemble the card, I embossed a piece of Lilac Blossom Cardstock using the Tiny Dots Embossing Folder, adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner, and popped the image up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed these fun summertime card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today. And don’t miss the Sparkle & Shine Sale with up to 40% select embellishments… it all ends tonight, Sunday, May 19th!
