Home for the Holidays Collection from Spellbinders + Early Black Friday Deals!

Hello again friends!   I am excited to be back today to share a bunch of projects made with the Home for the Holidays Collection from SpellbindersThis collection debuted in July this year and contains a ton of beautiful holiday die sets and BetterPress plates.  Although I’m just getting around to posting my projects now (I made them in April…😬), now is the perfect time to share them because many of the products are discounted for the Early Black Friday Sale!  Here I used several die sets from the collection to create lots of fun holiday cards.

HOLIDAY CHEER SANTA CARD

One of my favorite die sets from the collection is the sweet, oversized St. Nick Die Set.  Here I’ve cut him out of traditional holiday colors and placed him full-size onto a 5″ x 7″ card front, but you can scrunch him a little and create other card sizes as well (see below!).  The die set comes with several accessories to place in his hands, and I chose the lantern and a cute tree for this card.

To create the background, I embossed some Glacier Cardstock with the Monoline Stars Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it all to a top-folding A7-sized white card base.  The hill he stands on was cut from white cardstock using the Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set, and I added a sentiment cut with the Christmas Greetings Die Set to finish off the card.

JOYFUL POINSETTIA CARD

Next, I used a similar color scheme to create this fun shaped card featuring a pretty poinsettia.  The Poinsettia Spray Die Set allows you to cut a beautiful layered floral sprig that fits perfectly within the border of one of the layering dies in the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set.  After cutting a shaped card base from white cardstock using the largest die from the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set, I embossed the front using the Columns Embossing Folder.

I then cut a double frame out of Sage Cardstock using several of the layering dies from the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set.  Once I had adhered the poinsettia spray in the center with liquid glue, I added a quick sentiment cut from black and white cardstock using the Christmas Greetings Die Set.

MERRY POINSETTIA CARD

The Starshine Background Die creates a gorgeous textured background perfect for holiday cards and everyday cards.  Here I cut Sage Cardstock using the background die and adhered it onto a top-folding A2-sized white card base for this colorful holiday card for a friend.

To make my greeting pop, I cut white cardstock using the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set and added it to the center of the card.  Then I cut “merry” several times out of colorful cardstock using the Christmas Greetings Die Set and added the stacked sentiments on top.  To embellish, I added some of the flowers and holly from the Poinsettia Spray Die Set around the sentiment.

WINTER GNOME CARD

Switching gears, I thought it would be fun to create more of a winter gnome figure using the St. Nick Die Set…so I cut him out of blues and silvers, lost the shoes and belt, and scrunched him to make him a bit shorter.  This time I chose the star and snowflake from the set to accessorize him.

The background was created by embossing a piece of Glacier Cardstock using the Sparkling Snow 3d Embossing Folder, matting it with Mirror Silver Cardstock, and adhering it to a top-folding mini slimline card base measuring 3.5″ x 6.5″.  The finishing touch was a simple sentiment cut with the Christmas Greetings Die Set.

POINSETTIA NOEL CARD

Sticking with that same wintry color scheme, I made another card using the Poinsettia Spray Die Set.  This time, I cut the flowers from white, pink, and blue cardstock and adhered them on top of a piece of vellum cut using one of the dies from the Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set.

The background is just a piece of white cardstock cut using the Starshine Background Die, followed by a little ink-blending from the bottom with Chipped Sapphire and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Once assembled, I added another simple sentiment from the Christmas Greetings Die Set to finish off the card.

WINTER GREETINGS SHAPED CARD

And here is another fun shaped card using that beautiful Emerald Cut Labels & Tag Die Set!  This time I embossed some Glacier Cardstock using the Holly Flourish Embossing Folder and placed a frame cut out of Cosmic Sky Cardstock on top.  The sentiment, cut from Mirror Silver and white cardstock using the Christmas Greetings Die Set, was then popped up in the center of the card with foam adhesive.

To finish off the card, I added some white poinsettias and holly leaves (from the Poinsettia Spray Die Set) to the frame around the sentiment and embellished with a couple of Crystal Mix Gems.

SIMPLE WINTER WISHES CARD

Lastly, I wanted to create just a simple winter wishes card using some of the die sets from the collection.  I started by cutting Cosmic Sky Cardstock using the Starshine Background die and adhered the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.

Then I cut snowflakes out of white, Glacier, and Mirror Silver Cardstock using the St. Nick Die Set and adhered them down the card front around a sentiment cut from white cardstock using the Christmas Greetings Die Set.

I hope you enjoyed these fun holiday card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today.  You can find almost all of the supplies I used today on sale now during the Early Black Friday Sale over at Spellbinders!
