I had so much fun making this card for the Wood, Cork, and Metal Challenge on the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog, that I decided to make another one focusing on just the wood theme this time.
The basket of flowers (from the “Baskets of Wishes” set) was stamped in Toffee Crunch Memento Luxe ink and covered with clear embossing powder on a scrap of wood veneer paper. After my image had cooled, I colored it in using alcohol markers.
The colors that I had chosen for the basket ended up determining the color scheme for the entire card…so I cut up a bunch of scraps of brown and coral ombre cardstock and adhered them to a piece of Island Indigo cardstock (SU) that I had stamped with the “Hardwood” background stamp (SU) and heat embossed with clear powder.
The sentiment (also from the “Basket of Wishes” set) was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Luxe ink and also covered with clear embossing powder. Then, I stamped a few single flowers from the set around the rest of the pennant and quickly colored them in with markers from Stampin’ Up. The ivory cardbase and pennant are made from the heavy-weight Recollections cardstock at Michael’s…and it is, surprisingly, pretty nice cardstock.
I’d love to hear your comments!
Beautiful Card! I love that you used wood grain but made it bright and colorful! Thanks so much for playing along with our Inky Paws Challenge at Newton’s Nook Designs!
