For today’s card, I took the idea of a mini envelope card and turned it into a little treat bag for Halloween.
I designed the bag in Silhouette Studio to be about the right size for a mini Hershey bar or a handful of small candies and cut it out of patterned paper from Stampin’ Up on my Cameo. The handles are made from stiff hemp cord that I colored black with Spectrum Noir markers and the windows, stitched frame, and ticket shape for my sentiment were all cut using my Cameo as well.
I stamped a sentiment from Stampin’ Up’s “Best of Halloween” set in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in black on Cajun Craze cardstock (SU). I wanted to pop this up on the right side of the card, so I added a thin strip of the same cardstock on the left to provide balance.
Now that the hard design work is done, I could mass-produce these pretty easily for trick-or-treaters…but I’m not sure how happy they’d be with just one mini candybar so I’ll probably use them to send money to my nieces and nephews instead. You know, back in my day, we walked 20 miles uphill both ways to go trick-or-treating and were happy to get a handful of peanuts out of the deal…
Thanks for stopping by!
What a fun card! You did a great job on creating that little gift bag.
I was thinking about doing a similar card. You have given me new ideas to expand my design. I think I will fill my bag with plastic spiders and ants! Too many calories in chocolate lol
That is the cutest idea, to hang a bag inside. So creative.
