Gnome Drive Collection from Spellbinders

Welcome to the weekend friends!  I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new Gnome Drive Collection from Spellbinders.  (Check out the entire August release here…so many beautiful new items!)  This adorable collection starts with a fun gnome in his car and then includes nearly every accessory you’ll need to help him send cheer for occasions throughout the year.  I used a couple of the products from the collection to create these two cute cards but be sure to check out the samples below for three more occasions!

CHRISTMAS CRUISING CARD

The Gnome Drive Holiday Die Set contains all of the dies you need to create an adorable Christmas scene, plus it serves as the base for each of the accessory die sets to allow you to keep cruising through the rest of the year with fun cards.  I started by cutting my car out of Mirror Red cardstock and added Brushed Gold and Brushed Silver accents before adding the tree and present alongside my blue gnome.  To dress up the tree a bit, I added some “ornaments” using the Fashion Rouge and Fashion Oyster Pearl Dots.

To create the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, blended Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac, and Spun Sugar Distress Ink down the panel, and embossed it with the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the Gnome Drive Sentiments Stamp Set onto white cardstock and cut it out into a hill shape using the Color Block Scenic Scape Die Set.  After adding the blended background to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I popped the hill and gnome in his car up on top with foam adhesive.

CUTE BACK TO SCHOOL CARD

With so many seasonal and holiday accessory dies in the collection, I next wanted to create a card using just one of the add-on sets without the car and gnome base.  Since my youngest is starting kindergarten in just a few days, I thought a cute back-to-school card was in order.  I started by cutting several apples and pencils out using the Gnome Drive Graduation Die Set and assembled them all with liquid glue.

To assemble the card, I trimmed a piece of Dune Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″, embossed it with the Diamond Plaid Embossing Folder, and adhered the apples and pencils directly to the panel with liquid glue.  After trimming off any overhanging die-cuts with a pair of scissors, I added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.  To finish off the card, I stamped another sentiment from the Gnome Drive Sentiments Stamp Set (there are sentiments for almost every occasion!) onto white cardstock, trimmed it out into a small strip, and popped it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive.
