Hi friends! I’m back today with more projects using some of the gorgeous new holiday products in the July release from Spellbinders. The Glimmer Greetings Collection is a large collection of beautiful new Glimmer backgrounds, sentiments and holiday images. I used several of these foil plates and dies to create four festive holiday cards in bold and bright colors.
BLOOMING ORNAMENT CARD
The new Blooming Ornament Glimmer Plate Set is a gorgeous design that can be used in multiple ways…add the ribbon and hanger for a pretty Christmas ornament or use just the floral swag and circle as a wreath or focal image on everyday cards! I started by applying Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the ornament, ribbon, and hanger plates and colored the image in with Copic markers before cutting them out with the coordinating dies. I also foiled a pretty sentiment from Yana’s Christmas Sentiments Foil Plate Set in matching gold foil.
Next, I trimmed Fern Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with the Forevergreen Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. After adding the images and sentiment on top with foam adhesive, I embellished the card with a few Gold Mix Gems.
MERRY & BRIGHT WINTER BOUQUET CARD
I’m excited that Spellbinders has added two new Glimmer solid shapes with this collection – the Glimmer Essential Solid Diamond and the Glimmer Essential Solid Arch. I started by adding some Sparkle Silver Hot Foil (coming soon!) to a piece of Waterfall Cardstock cut to 4″ x 5.25″ with the Glimmer Essential Solid Diamond, matting it with Mirror Silver Cardstock, and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
This pretty and sparkly diamond was the perfect background for a fun winter bouquet that I created with the new Holiday Blooms Die Set. For the sentiment, I applied Red Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Plate Set and popped it up on the right side with foam adhesive. A few Crystal Mix Gems finish off this bright holiday card.
MERRY WISHES MINI SLIMLINE CARD
Next, I thought those diamonds would be perfect for a fun argyle background, so I cut Phone Booth and Waterfall Cardstock with the Essential Diamonds Die Set and layered them on top of a piece of white cardstock that I had cut using the Precision Layering Mini Slimline B Die Set and embossed with the Geo Screen Embossing Folder. After trimming off any overhanging cardstock, I matted it with a panel of Mirror Gold Cardstock cut with the Precision Layering Mini Slimline A Die Set and added it all to a top-folding white card base.
The custom sentiment was foiled onto white cardstock using Satin Gold Hot Foil and the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Foil Plate Set. I used the same foil to create the tiny floral embellishments using the Blooming Tree Glimmer Plate Set, which were colored with Copic markers and popped up in the corners with foam adhesive. Crystal Mix Gems finish this easy card off nicely.
HOLIDAY DOORWAY SHAPED CARD
Lastly, I had this idea for a simple shaped card using the new Essential Arches Die Set…after cutting a card base out of Phone Booth Cardstock using the largest die in the set, I added a slightly smaller white panel that had been embossed with the Diamond Plaid Embossing Folder to create a “doorway”.
I applied Gold Hot Foil to Fern Cardstock using just the ornament from the Blooming Ornament Glimmer Plate Set and popped it up in the center of the card front to serve as a simple holiday wreath. Then I added another greeting that I had foiled in Red Hot Foil using the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Plate and a few Gold Mix Gems to finish off the card.
