Hello again friends! I’m so happy to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the new Glimmer For The Holidays Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire August release here…so much beautiful stuff!) This gorgeous collection is full of holiday-inspired hot foil designs that fill an entire card front as well as some beautiful new sentiments. I used a many of the products from the collection to create three pretty holiday cards full of sparkle and shine!
FOILED POINSETTIA BOUQUET CARD
Spellbinders has released several Glimmer plates with coordinating stencil sets lately, and I love how easy it makes adding color to beautiful oversized images like this one. I used the Full Bloom Poinsettia Glimmer Plate to apply Matte Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock, then quickly added several shades of Distress Ink (listed below) to the image with the coordinating stencil set. Similarly, I foiled the Comfort & Joy Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set onto white cardstock with Matte Gold Hot Foil and cut them out using the coordinating die.
To assemble the card, I matted the image panel with both Mirror Gold and Blue Spruce Cardstock before adhering them to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I added a shadow layer to the sentiment banner before popping it up in the lower corner of the card front. To embellish, I scattered a few Gold Mix Gems around for a little sparkle.
FOILED PINE BOUQUET CARD
Pine sprigs are one of my favorite holiday icons, so I pulled out the Pine Sprays Glimmer Plate next. After applying Pink Hot Foil to Pink Sand Cardstock using this gorgeous Glimmer plate, I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. This time I foiled the sentiment banner using Moondust Hot Foil (one of my favorite foils to use all year long!).
The poinsettia, pine, and holly were cut from white, Mirror Silver, and Waterfall Cardstock using the Christmas Bird Poinsettia Die Set. After adding a little shading with Kitsch Flamingo and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink, I assembled the bouquet in the corner of the card front and added Silver Mix Gems to the flower center.
FOILED CHRISTMAS TREE CARD
Lastly, the Swirling Foliage Tree Glimmer Plate Set is such a beautiful design all on its own, I decided to create just a simple and pretty card with it. For a little extra sparkle, I applied Speckled Prism Hot Foil to Waterfall Cardstock using the plate, then blended a bit of Evergreen Bough Distress Ink around the edges before matting it with Mirror Silver Cardstock and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
To create the ornaments, I die cut pink and white glitter foam sheets using the ornament die from the Bottle Brush Trees Duo Die Set and added them randomly over the foiled design with liquid glue. Another sentiment from the Comfort & Joy Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, foiled with Silver Hot Foil, was added to the center of the card to finish it off.
