I know, I know…it’s only October and I’m already posting Christmas cards?! I couldn’t help but share one of the beautiful new dies from Crafter’s Companion that is making its debut on HSN today (24 Craft Day!) And actually, I usually start my Christmas crafting way before October…
Let’s start with the background since that was the first piece I created. I simply laid down a ton of color with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (Starry Sky, Fig, and Macaroon) by swiping them back and forth across a 5″x 7″ piece of Crafter’s Companion Watercolor Cardstock and blending a bit between the colors. Then I sprinkled water droplets over top and dabbed away some pigment with a paper towel to create a super sparkly abstract winter night sky.
The new Create-A-Card dies are 5″ x 5″ (sentiment dies are 5″ x 2″) and made so that they can cut an intricate design into a cardfront, but not an outer edge. This way, you can center the dies on really any size piece of cardstock and create many different types of projects (box-tops, gift bags, or luminaries?). Combining an image and sentiment die from this new line, like I did here, will yield a 5″ x 7″ card.
I used both the “Enchanted Deer” and “Season’s Greetings” dies to cut this gorgeous cardfront from some white woodgrain cardstock. After adhering it to my sparkly night sky, I wrapped it with some silver baker’s twine and matted the piece with some deep blue shimmering cardstock. Though hard to photograph, this sparkly card looks so festive and dreamy in real life!
I hope you enjoyed this Christmas card project and don’t forget to tune in to 24 Craft Day!
