I know we’re only just easing into autumn lately, but today I wanted to share a quick tutorial to help you get started early on quick and easy Christmas cards using lots of new stencils from the Clear Scraps shop. These are a great solution if you have tons of Christmas cards to make or are just short on time this year!
I started by trimming pieces of green and pink cardstock to 4″ x 6″. Then I laid the Plaid Stencil on top and applied Tumbled Glass or Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil using a foam ink blending tool. I used a combination of pouncing and swirling motions to get a thick and even coating of ink.
Once dry, I secured the Comfort & Joy stencil over top of my red/green plaid background and the Sparkle stencil over top of my pink/blue plaid background. Using a palette knife, I applied a thick coat of Gold or White Glitz Glitter gel through each stencil. I removed each stencil as soon as I had smoothed the gel evenly across the sentiment and placed it in some warm, soapy water to clean.
Allow each card front to dry completely and then mat it with either gold or silver metallic cardstock. Wrap gold or silver metallic ribbon around two corners of the panels and adhere them to a white top-folding 4.5″ x 6.5″ card base with foam adhesive.
