Happy Sunday friends! The past couple of months have been a little crazy with so many gorgeous new releases from all of our favorite crafty companies, so today I decided I wanted to take a little breather. We’re over a month into autumn now and Thanksgiving is just around the corner here in the states, but I still haven’t had a chance to share more inspiration using my Country Road Collection that was released back in May by Spellbinders. Honestly, I had intended to make a video for these two cards, but just haven’t had the opportunity to sit still long enough to do it, so I’ll just share some details here and please let me know if you have any questions!
HELLO FALL FARMSTAND SCENE
This first card embodies one of my favorite things about the area I live in…farmstand entrances all decked out for fall and Thanksgiving! I wanted a more muted scene, so started by cutting Dune, Latte, and Alabaster Cardstocks with the Welcome Sign & Sentiments Stamp & Die Set and stamped them with the pumpkin icon and sign greetings from the set before assembling them. The wagon wheel and barrel were cut in matching colors using the Rustic Garden Die Set and I added wheat, sunflowers, and the kitty from the Garden Builder Die Set as well as some pumpkins from the Seasonal Decor Die Set.
The background was created by inking some white cardstock lightly with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink…just enough color to give a hint of a background for this scene. After stamping another sentiment from the Welcome Sign & Sentiments Stamp & Die Set in the top corner, I matted the panel with Latte Cardstock and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. The scene was assembled on top with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of depth and dimension.
THANKSGIVING HARVEST WHEELBARROW
Next I wanted to create a pretty Thanksgiving card using my Country Wheelbarrow Die Set. I cut the wheelbarrow out of Sage, Alabaster, and Latte Cardstocks and assembled it as a flatbed for a different look (you can find assembly instructions for the flatbed wheelbarrow in my video here). After assembling the wheelbarrow, I again added wheat, sunflowers, and pumpkins cut using the Garden Builder and Seasonal Decor Die Sets.
To create the background, I first cut white cardstock using the Essential Ovals Die Set, blended Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink around the top and bottom of the piece, and stamped a greeting from the Welcome Sign & Sentiments Stamp & Die Set in the top corner. Latte Cardstock was embossed with the Falling Leaves Embossing Folder and added to a top-folding A2-sized white card base before popping the oval and wheelbarrow up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
