Have you seen all of the amazing holiday goodies in the latest release from Spellbinders? There are soooo many fun new stamps, dies, and embossing folders in this release and today I’m excited to share some cards made with the brand new Christmas Slimline Collection. The best part is that each item in the collection is super versatile, working beautifully for both holiday and everyday projects!
CIRCLE KALEIDOSCOPE SLIMLINE CARD
The new Circle Kaleidoscope Slimline Die Set is a set of six dies that creates a circle motif card panel sized perfectly for slimline cards. When you add the ornament hangers to the layered circle die-cuts, it can be used for holiday cards, but otherwise this design is just a gorgeous pattern for any kind of card.
I cut the different layers of the card front out of white, Cosmic Sky, Purple Mist, and Glacier Cardstock and layered them up on top of a blue glitter panel for a wintry “Frozen” effect. Then I added a greeting that I foiled in silver onto white cardstock using the Yana’s Christmas Sentiments Foil Plate Set and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.
I matted the entire die-cut panel with more Purple Mist Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″. Then I finished the card off with blue and purple rhinestones for tons of sparkle and shine.
KALEIDOSCOPE ARGYLE MINI SLIMLINE CARD
Another die set that I’m sure to find myself using time and time again is the new Kaleidoscope Argyle Die Set. This pretty design can be repeated as much as you want to fit almost any size card and works for every season as well. Here I’ve created a mini slimline card in traditional Christmas colors (but I’m already imagining this design in fun autumn colors too!).
I cut the Argyle Grid a couple of times from both white and Mirror Gold Cardstock so that I could insert the white inner pieces back in to the grid pattern later. Then I die cut Pomegranate, Rainforest, Fern, and Poppy Field Cardstock with the Kaleidoscope Diamond dies, layered them up, and adhered them onto the white inner pieces with liquid glue.
After matting a piece of kraft cardstock measuring 6.5″ x 3″ with Pomegranate Cardstock, I adhered it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6.5″. The argyle design was added directly to the card front with liquid glue before popping up a few poinsettias cut using the new Christmas Blooms Die Set. I finished the card off with a couple of Gold Mix Gems and a sentiment embossed in gold using the new Mini Christmas Greetings Stamp Set.
