BetterPress Place & Press Registration Collection from Spellbinders

Hello again friends!  I’m excited to share a few projects today made with the new BetterPress Place & Press Registration Collection from Spellbinders (you can check out the entire February release here…lots of beautiful spring items this month!)  This collection is based on a new concept developed by Spellbinders…using an included template, you can place different plates onto the BetterPress and ink them in different colors to create gorgeous multi-colored designs with ease.  I used both sets in the collection to create these quick and easy cards and love how easy this new system is!

FOILED MULTI-COLOR LETTERPRESS THANK YOU CARD

We all know by now that BetterPress plates can be used for foiling with the Glimmer Hot Foil System, and the BetterPress Registration system can expand on this even further!  You can foil the entire design if you’d like, but I chose just the sentiment in the Thank You Blooms Registration Press Plate Set to allow it to stand out among the flowers.  I started by laying my template out on my work surface to position my sentiment plate, added a piece of Cobalt Hot Foil on top (pretty side facing the plate!), and placed a piece of Glacier Cardstock on top before carefully turning the sandwich over to remove the template for foiling (secure with low-tack tape to ensure no shifting occurs while foiling).

Once foiled, I simply taped the template onto the magnetic platform of my BetterPress to ink the other plates with Cosmic Sky, Coastal, and Hydrangea BetterPress Inks.  When the design was complete, I cut it out using one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies (SNEAK PEEK – these are available next month, but I love them so much I had to use them early!).  To complete the card, I embossed a piece of Cosmic Sky Cardstock using the new Woven 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base before popping the inked panel up on top with foam adhesive.

BLOOMING GARDEN HELLO CARD

The other fun plate set in this collection is the Blooming Garden Registration Press Plate Set…a gorgeous floral design with three options for sentiments.  This design looks great in bright spring colors, but I inked it up with muted tones for something a bit different – Saffron, Apricot, Bark, and Mulberry BetterPress Ink.  Once the multi-color design was pressed, I fussycut it out with scissors.

To create the background, I embossed a piece of Beeswax Cardstock using the new Bee-Cause 3D Embossing Folder, inked it around the edges a bit with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, and matted it with Latte Cardstock.  Once adhered to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I could pop the inked panel up on top with foam adhesive and call this easy card done!
