Hello again friends! It’s new release day for Spellbinders (check out all of the gorgeous new products by clicking here!), but today I’m sharing a couple of cards using the BetterPress Fall and BetterPress Halloween Collections from Spellbinders that I haven’t had a chance to post yet. These collections contain press plates featuring gorgeous autumn and Halloween images, sentiments, and even complete backgrounds. Here I created three fun cards with a little watercoloring and inkblending, but be sure to check out the additional samples below that I recently shared over on the Spellbinders blog too!
YOU’RE A SCREAM CARD
The Halloween Icons Press Plate & Die Set really has everything you need to make Halloween cards this year. I pressed four of the fun images onto BetterPress Porcelain Cotton Paper using BetterPress Black Ink, added some color with my Peerless Watercolors, and fussycut them all out. I also pressed the sentiments from the set and cut them out using the coordinating die (check out those fun edges!).
To create the background, I pressed the Spider Web Background Plate onto some more Porcelain cardstock using the BetterPress Black Ink and then blended Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink down the panel before matting it with Onyx Cardstock and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I arranged my images and sentiment in the lower corner and adhered them down with foam adhesive.
AUTUMN FLORAL THANK YOU CARD
And how gorgeous is the Autumn Thanks Frame Plate? I pressed both the frame and the sentiment onto BetterPress Porcelain Cotton Cardstock with BetterPress Black Ink and watercolored the images with my Peerless Watercolors. Once dry, I matted the panel with Crimson Cardstock and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
To emphasize the sentiment a bit more, I cut a frame out of Crimson Cardstock using two of the Notched Corner Frames Dies and popped it up around the greeting with foam adhesive. I love this simple and colorful card!
HALLOWEEN SKELETON CARD
Lastly, I thought this image from the Open If You Dare Plate Set was hilarious so I created a quick and easy card that combines “BetterPress-ing“and “Glimmer-ing“. First I pressed the image and sentiment onto Pebble Cotton Cardstock and cut it out using one of the Notched Corner Frame Dies. Then I lightly blended Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges to make it a little more spooky.
To create the background, I applied Prism Hot Foil to Onyx Cardstock using the Spider Web Background Press Plate. After adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I popped the image panel up on top with foam adhesive.
