Welcome to a new week friends! I’m stopping by quickly today to share a couple of projects made with the new Bayfair Collection by Rosie’s Studio as well as the New Tools Collection from Spellbinders (check out the rest of the May release here…there are tons of great products this month!). The Bayfair Collection contains beautiful patterned papers, versatile die sets, and fun embellishments perfect for creating sophisticated summer cards. I used some of the gorgeous florals along with two new punches to create these two pretty thank you cards.
PATRIOTIC THANK YOU CARD
The Bayfair Collection has a kind of nautical summertime vibe, so it’s perfect for patriotic holidays. I started by matting a piece of striped patterned paper from the Bayfair 6×6 Paper Pad with Pomegranate Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I used the new 3-n-1 Banner Punch to create the large layered pennant shape on the left side of the card front. The 3-n-1 Banner Punch has alignment guides to chomp a fishtail end onto any length of cardstock, in either 1.5″, 2″, or 2.5″ widths…so I punched a 2.5″-wide piece of blue cardstock and a 2″-wide piece of white cardstock to create the layered banner shown.
Next, I die cut flowers out of red, white, and blue cardstocks using the Floral Spray Die Set (I love how the mum flowers resemble patriotic rosettes!) and adhered them together with liquid glue. The sentiment was cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Handwritten Sentiments Die Set, and I popped it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive. After arranging the floral spray around the sentiment, I adhered it down with more foam adhesive.
FLORAL THANK YOU CARD
I love using a tag on the front of cards to ground florals around a sentiment, so I pulled out my 3-n-1 Tag Punch next. Just like the banner punch, you can punch a tag topper onto 1.5″, 2″, and 2.5″ wide cardstock using the alignment guides for a tons of fun options (the three sizes all yield a slightly different topper style too for even more fun!). I punched a 2″-wide piece of white cardstock using the 3-n-1 Tag Punch and popped it up slightly wonky on top of two pretty patterned papers from the Bayfair 6×6 Paper Pad.
To give the tag a finished look, I added a small gold ribbon bow. Then I cut a few more flowers and leaves using the Floral Spray Die Set to match the colors in the patterned paper and adhered them at the top and bottom of the tag. The finishing touch was a pretty greeting from my Propagation Garden Sentiments Stamp & Die Set embossed in gold and cut out with the coordinating die.
